Eldress Matushka Alipiya of Kiev
Matushka Alipiya of Kiev was one of those rare souls who seemed to breathe the future before it arrived. In the final years of her life, she sensed something dark approaching, the shadow of a global catastrophe. She warned that what was coming would shake nations to their core.
Before her repose in 1988, she spoke of the trial humanity would face at the dawn of the Third World War. Her words were stark, unforgettable:
“This will not be a war, but the execution of peoples for their rotten state.”
She described scenes so devastating that even today they send chills down the spine:
“The dead will lie in mountains, and no one will dare to bury them. Mountains and hills will crumble and flatten. People will flee from place to place. Many will become bloodless martyrs, suffering for the Orthodox faith.”
And then she gave a mysterious clue about when this great upheaval would begin:
“The war will start on the day of Peter and Paul, the Day of the first Apostles.”
At first glance, many assumed she meant the traditional Feast of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul, celebrated on June 29 according to the New Calendar, or July 12 on the Old Calendar, due to the 13‑day difference.
But later, some speculate that Matushka Alipiya was not referring to the commonly celebrated date at all.
In 1987, using what she called the Jerusalem calendar, the “day of Peter and Paul” did not fall in July. Instead, it aligned with one of the most luminous feasts of the Orthodox Church, the Transfiguration of the Lord, celebrated on August 6, or on August 19 on the Old Calander. The Feast of the Transfiguration is one of the Twelve Great Feasts, a moment when Christ revealed His divine glory on Mount Tabor.
Yet in Matushka Alipiya’s prophecy, one of these radiant feasts becomes the marker for a time of global darkness.
Her message remains a warning, a riddle, and a call to spiritual vigilance!
