Theodora, who from a young age has regularly read the Supplication to Saint John Vatatzes and has waited for decades to see him and receive his blessing, had a profound experience. On the feast day of Saint John (November 4, 2023), in the early morning hours, Theodora was reading his Supplication once again. Suddenly, the walls and roof “gave way,” and she saw the Virgin Mary appear and bless her, with Saint John standing silently behind and to her right. After the two “visitors” departed quietly, the space continued to emit an indescribable fragrance for days.
