Mt. Neophytos of Morphou
On November 6th, 2024, Metropolitan Neophytos of Morphou delivered a profound lecture addressing the role of prophecy in the life of Orthodox Christians. He cautioned against fear and sensationalism, urging the faithful to approach prophecies as a means of strengthening faith and deepening repentance. With discernment, he explained, believers must distinguish truth from myth, resisting the fear instilled by media and governments. Metropolitan Neophytos further warned of the Antichrist’s attempts to infiltrate the Church and distort its sacred traditions, while also highlighting the dangers of modern technology and its potential misuse to deceive the youth. Concluding his talk, he emphasized the importance of preparing the next generation through spiritual and practical education, so they may stand firm against deception and remain rooted in the true Church of God.
(Intro): “These are real prophecies which we are now seeing”, he says. Since I see in our days that a great Paisios comes to say that Palestine will become a stadium and the Dead Sea will then be their tomb. And I see that they have made Palestine and the Palestinians a playing field and the Jews have passed over them.”
(Introduction): “Your Eminence, venerable priesthood, dear brothers in Christ, greetings. The apocalyptic days we live in when prophecies become news is the subject of our dialogue gathering tonight. A much discussed topic by all of us at least among Christians who believe in the prophetic word of the saints of old and of the contemporary saints. A subject that for believing Christians there is no scandal because we believe in prophecy. But the great fear is often not from many citizens, people, journalists or the world who do not believe in prophecies, but from us church people who do not believe in these prophecies of the saints. Saints whose holiness is confirmed through their signs, miracles and apparitions and there is no reason to doubt their prophetic words, which are slowly being verified and becoming news. Tonight’s topic is a difficult one and with the enlightenment of the Holy Spirit we hope that the appropriate answers will be given. Just to add that as we have said in our previous gathering we have collected the questions add a note jump to and made a summary of the topics to facilitate the dialogue. Your Eminence, the floor is yours to begin our dialogue and ask the questions.”
Metropolitan Neophytos of Morphou: “Good evening to all! This you know is the most difficult of all that we have done to date because there is, as our dear John said, chatter and verbiage around the prophetic word, not only those who do not accept it. I think they are the most clear and the most honest towards the prophetic word. He says to you, “Sir, I do not believe, these are babblings.” In Cypriot they are called commonplace pellets. “So I do not believe these things.” The problem is that within our Orthodox Church a double movement is developing, either in those who have great faith in the prophetic word and long for any prophecy to be fulfilled, whether false or true, because unfortunately we also have false prophecies, when they are in a constant tension, when some or all of what is said or written by the saints and not others, will be fulfilled. And in this way, the energy, let us notice this, the energy of the nous, which our nous, as we have said again and again, is the great gift that the Triune God has given us. It is the highest power of the five cognitive powers that the soul has. The nous instead of being occupied with repentance and with love in the Person of Christ the Saviour and our neighbour, the energy of the mind is consumed in watching, reading, expecting, desiring, wanting prophecies.
I think this is a morbid phenomenon. If you ask me where it comes from, it comes from the fact that some people are not believers. They are religious. One thing is religious, another thing is believer. The believer, his concern is the commandments of Christ. His concern is to see his own sinfulness, to repent, to participate in the sacraments of the Orthodox Church with a humble attitude, with a deep sense of his sinfulness. To try to love his neighbor and to forgive him with mercy, with compassion. While the religious manis a man of who usually has a zealotry. Whose zealotry is not focused on his sinfulness but on similar matters of the spiritual life. Which I’m not saying that it’s not necessary to have. And the incidental and the minor ones. But to know what is primary in our spiritual life. That it is our repentance, that it is the commandments of Christ, that it is love to Christ and to our neighbor. This is the Gospel of the Orthodox believer. Now you see, they are more interested in these types of zealotry and paraphilia and religiosity, they are more interested in whether the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew will co-locate next Easter with the Pope... than they are in their personal repentance.
Do you think I don’t care? I’m worried about all that’s going on. And about the ecumenisms and the zealotries and the secularization of both clergy and people. But when I see myself that I have read so many books, got two degrees, God has made me His bishop, I have met ten saints, seven of whom have already been officially canonized, and I see that I have such anger in me and such desires that if I confess them to you, you will all go away. Only John Pesiridis, who came from Thessaloniki, and Anthony Chelidonis, who came from Athens, will remain here. The rest of you will all leave. But I see what is the main thing in myself. That is why I beg you again and many times if this meeting has something to offer is that we do not lose our goal which is our repentance, it is our holiness. Nor are the events whether they will take place in a month, in a year, in a decade. Which I’m not saying that it’s not necessary to have. It came a day before yesterday, a period after many celebrations these past months have had. It was from Athens that the woman came, it seems she didn’t know me very well that I am easy to grab, when she says to me, thank you very much for the speeches you made supporting us in the years of the coronavirus, the events are coming up, eh? I say to her, “But you won’t live.” She turns her back with an angry look, she didn’t even get a counter meal. Now, all the quarrel was to come from Athens to find Morphou in a working village.(She) gave praise first, to throw the bait huh? And that, “You’re good and great and then, events are approaching in the next few months.” I threw it at her too, “But you won’t live, why do you care so much?” So. One is this is the kind we have in our church life. The other kind is the people... who love prophecy, respect it, and prophecy helps them, this is the healthy condition that I’m going to describe now, it helps them to grow in their faith.
Lastly, ten days ago, God really called me and two people came, one of them was a partisan from a party in Cyprus that I knew from a long time ago. He brought with him a Cypriot doctor in his 50s, who is a doctor who is politicizing himself without wanting to be a member of parliament or anything. And I was impressed that he knew all the prophecies both true and false which he had studied in depth. I was amazed. But for a doctor to know theology, to be able to interpret prophecies, to understand that time is a temptation in prophecy. That is, to be concerned, but when will these things happen? And will they hit Crete and Australia? Most of the questions we got were of this kind. He didn’t ask those kinds of things at all. And I asked him. “Doctor, do you have a wife, do you have children?” “I do.” he said. I asked him a standard question. “Do you talk to your wife about these things?” He said, “I do, of course.” Sometimes she says, “Stop, don’t go on. I got scared.” But it’s still good that he’s involved in this interest. I say to him, “Well, because you are a doctor, you see so many sick people every day...this is an interest around the prophetic word of the Church.”
He says to me, “But it is not now that I have it. It’s 30 years. From the time that I was 20 years old when I started confessing and now that I am 50 and, and I read and study and pray and pray and confess and confess and receive communion and have a spiritual father and in this way I have slowly come to realize, he says, that knowing the true prophecy of the saints is like knowing the course of events. I know,” he tells me, “that there will come a time when Israel will bomb Persia’s nuclear program.” I have believed this, he tells me, that it will happen. I know that the Kurds at some historic moment will become a state and the major powers will recognize it. And that will be the end of the great Turkey. Turkey will be reduced and weakened and one of the consequences of its weakening will be the freedom of Cyprus. I know this thing,” he tells me. “Now,” he tells me, “as I see the events that have begun to come to pass in some cases, after 30 years of studying these things, I know which events fall within a particular prophecy, which events have not yet found their way to the prophetic word of the Church. And so I understand, he says, that of all that I have read, 70% of it is true, it is real prophecy. Since I see in our days that a great Paisios comes to say that Palestine will become a stadium and the Dead Sea will then be their tomb. And I see that they have made Palestine and the Palestinians a playing field and the Jews have passed over them.
Whereupon, he says to me, “I can calmly look at history. That’s a long conversation he said. Because it’s history, isn’t it?” But, he says to me, “It’s not that I want to follow history and political events through the prophetic word and not through the analyses of Mr. Mazi, Mr. Filia of geopolitics. But through the eyes of the saints.” That, he tells me, “My emminence, I have benefited from 30 years of study because I have acquired this gift of assured faith.” And one day we were at one of the many services by the grace of God and we hear the cantor reading the Epistle. The Apostle Paul’s First Epistle to the Corinthians. And what does the apostle Paul say? The prophecy is not for the faithless nor for the unbelievers. It is for believers so that their faith may be further strengthened. Remember what I told you other times. That for St. Iakovos of Euboea who we will have a great vigil here in a few days for... and come as many of you as you can on the evening of the 21-22 on the day of the Virgin Mary here in Akaki in the great church and we will have a vigil for our saint. What did he tell me?
“Every morning I wake up and the first thing I ask for is to addition of faith.” In James this addition, this increase was made through his prayer basically to the saint of the monastery, St. David. In this doctor the increase of faith is through the study of the prophetic word. And he says to me at the end, “It’s a blessing to send you on viber some that I find about the prophetic word and some events that are now becoming news” ,as we said in the title prophecies are now becoming news, “so that you can be aware of it too.” I say to him, “I have about 50 people sending me, you send me some too son.” But I was really impressed by this man. “Be happy,” he says, “don’t say my name, they’ll drive me crazy on the phone. But say, a doctor.” And so I share with you this pleasant experience of a man who knows letters, who is political, who hasn’t quit his job and say, but if there’s going to be a third world war, why should I go to work? His job, his patients, his family, his wife, his four children, his spiritual director, the services he goes to. But he’s also anxious about what’s going to happen in the future. And we said...
He does this neither out of curiosity nor out of zealotry nor out of a desire to be a teacher to anyone. I asked him. I said to him, in your company, to your fellow doctors, do you say this? And he said to me. To those who have interest and faith. To those who don’t have why should I make them curse either St. Paisios or St. George Karslidis, who was celebrated the day before yesterday, who also spoke prophecies, St. Sophia of Kleisura, St. Gabriel of Georgia and so many other Russians. Our own Cypriot Saint Filumenos, old Hadjiflourentzos, Savvas Achilles. He says to me, “When I see that the other person has no faith or his faith is little, I sew it up. I say nothing so as not to provoke him to start cursing; to start swearing.” “That is,” he tells me, “not to be stuck by my own faith.” But do you understand what quality of man this is, what distinction he has? And I said, Lord have mercy, he has acquired more discernment than I have. I pray you, doctor, when you see me, you did not hear these things. On the channel or on Viber. Can constant preoccupation with prophecy lead to deception and malice? Does rampant prophecy offend the memory of the saints because of the contradictory and conflicting prophecies that everyone says they read or heard from contemporary saints?
Also, all this prophecy containing persons and events, the martyred king, the blond beard, the liberation of Constantinople, the flourishing of Orthodoxy, are they not tricks of the devil to deceive the elect, as St. John the Theologian says? How can we understand that some prophecies have been fulfilled? Do geopolitical events verify prophecies? Is that what you say they become news or is it something else entirely? You have to convince the brothers that this question, which has 20 sub-questions in it, was collected by the dreadful, not to mention his name, our cutter who censors me and John, and I said to him, “My dear, compile the questions together so that they are not varied. Let’s make them united topics.” But this section has 20 topics in it. I’m going to start and you’re going to interrupt me so we don’t take up too much time. Isn’t the constant preoccupation with prophecy likely to lead to error and malice? I think I answered that earlier. Maybe. Of course it can. Because prophecy, dealing with prophecy, we said, if it is excessive, it eats up the energy of the nous which is the ruler of the nous of the soul. Well, when the nous, because of too much preoccupation with prophecy, becomes useless, tired, fanatical, then the other four powers of the soul are left, the second one being the intellect.
The intellect is called intellect because it opens paths to the nous, intellect through the nous that is, we go to the nous, it is the brain. The brain halves everything that has no certainty. What is left? That leaves opinion. Opinion again needs processing. And that leaves feeling and imagination. Imagination is the closest thing to the nous, to steal the nous. Then the imagination begins and gallops and we enter the morbid imagination, the sick imagination. That is, we start from a beautiful prophecy that St. John the Theologian said. Let me tell you one by St. John the Theologian in Revelation, the last book of the New Testament. I’ve already noted it, I think it’s chapter 16, verse 12. Listen to what he says. This is an example to show how a true prophecy can lead us into misinterpretation and error. The saint speaks of the seven bowls of God’s wrath. Indeed, “the fourth angel,” he says, “poured out his bowl on the sun, and power was given to him to scorch men with fire. And men were scorched with great heat,” “and they blasphemed the name of God who has power over these plagues; and they did not repent”
The summer is over. Did you see what heat wave we had. Did you ever think if we didn’t have air conditioning? How much stuff would collapse? God even provided the technology so we impatient people wouldn’t blaspheme; wouldn’t curse. And then he talks about the sixth angel. “Then the sixth angel,” he says, “poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates, and its water was dried up, so that the way of the Kings from the east might be prepared. “Listen to the translation. So here the saint dares to write a specific river. We have so many rivers in the world, don’t we? The Nile, the Tigris, the Tiber, the Clay. And he says the Euphrates. The Euphrates is in Mesopotamia. Where modern-day Iraq is. This is in modern Greek, “Then the sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates,” “and its water was dried up, so that the way of the Kings from the east might be prepared.” In ancient Greek, it says, “the kings of the sun from the east.” The ancient is better, more specific. “From the east of the sun”. Which countries are in the Far East? China, Japan, Korea, half of which is now at war with Ukraine. And it says the Euphrates River will come a time when the rulers of the Far East will be ready to make war and it says further down where the war will be “to the place called in Hebrew, Armageddon.” Armageddon is the region of Israel, a specific region.
And it says it will dry up a river which, when you look at the Euphrates, is a sea. For this part of the Revelation of St. John the Theologian is now prophetic. The Euphrates is almost dried up. The Euphrates at this moment is a brook. When they went and asked St. Paisios those who were reading the Revelation 30, 40 years ago. “Elder, but will the Euphrates dry up? Is it possible that a river whose width is equal to half the width of the Akaki can dry up now?” That flows down from the high mountains of Turkey? And he told them, the saint had a sense of humor, he was telling us 1/10 of what he saw, obviously because we could not bear to hear the whole truth. And what did saint say? “Guys, so many millions of Chinese soldiers will come to fight with Israel, won’t people be so thirsty from the trip? But from a single glass to drink a million Chinese men.” What is a million Chinese men? It’s nothing for the Chinese. One glass of water for each person will dry up the Euphrates.” He was trying to amuse our fear. Now what to say? The fact that they show us the Euphrates on YouTube and you can walk on it? It’s a terrible thing of course, because the Euphrates is drying up.
A rationalist, an atheist will tell you. But above the Turks in Turkey have built huge dams and the waters of the Euphrates are catching them and the villains are not letting them go down to the Middle East to irrigate this area that has been irrigated or centuries by the Euphrates and the Tigris River. That is a logical interpretation. That is why I say that these are dangerous things. Let me sit down now and tell you, you see? The Euphrates has dried up, so wherever you are we have Armageddon. Which Armageddon is what? It’s not World War III. It’s the final war in which everything will be shaken. “The powers of heaven are mocked.” The final one that will take place just before the Second Coming of the Lord When any interpretation, especially those who rely on the internet, listen to this, the internet does most of the damage, but let’s be fair. And the great missionary work is also done by the internet. It’s up to you how much sense you have. And if you go and ask anybody, like the doctor I told you earlier. So yes, there is a danger of error, even such a short prophecy as this by the beloved disciple of the Lord, the righteous John the Theologian.
If we try to interpret it on the basis of what is happening today on the Euphrates River, there is a danger of being deceived. And how do I know that tomorrow the Kurds will make their own state from the looks of it and that the Turks won’t get ahold of the dams they made and break the dams and the water will start to come down and the river will start to fill up again. Do you understand what I mean? Does rampant prophecy offend the memory of the saints because of the contradictory and conflicting prophecies that everyone says they read or heard from the modern saints? And that’s right. We are already seeing how the memory of a great saint like St. Paisios is insulted, and everyone attributes to him various prophecies that the man did not say. But it comes to the point that some brother says, it’s all lies. It’s not all lies, my dear. Alas. Thank God, the disciples of St. Paisios are alive. Father Efthimius, Father Gregory, Father Paisios the mathematician, the nuns of the Suroti, the nuns of Metamorphosis, serious people. We have the books of St. Paisios, we read them. And he writes in them, which he checked himself. So you see, we’re getting to the other extreme. It’s all lies. Not so. We insult the memory of the saints. Of course, we can cause this insult by those of us who deal with prophecy with an excessive zeal. They all want their distinction. And you know what? You laymen are not responsible, nor are the priests. The bishops are responsible. All the bishops had to deal with St. Paisios. All the bishops had to deal with St. Sophia of Cleisura who said frightful prophecies. And with all the saints who prophesied. Because what do we do now? Most of the bishops... say a couple of miracles e.g. St. James healed the leg of this one, or that the plane was going to crash and he caught it, real miracles. I even put and painted this miracle that St. James did. And you’ll see it when you come to the feast of St. James there in the mansion that we built, you’ll see a huge picture of him holding the plane. And so he saved 250 people who were in danger.

You laymen are not responsible, nor are the priests. The bishops are responsible.
I want to say that we have been led in our days, both by hierarchs and priests and the people of God, into an ignorance, a sloppy way of thinking. I would have suffered the same if in 2009-10 and 2011 I had not made the pilgrimages to Syria, Lebanon, and the Holy Land. And if I had not been told by 2-3 men of God that there is great confusion coming in the world, and you who are bold and loud in the prophetic word must deal with it. I didn’t do it on my own. It wasn’t my hobby. And especially after I met St. Galactia in 2016. St. Galactia reached very great measures of holiness; the female Saint Porphyriosl And you remember what she said to me. She told me what the three spiritual causes of world war would be. Three. The unrepentant abortions, the abnormalities, that she told me would become laws, and that would be done within and outside of marriage... And I was a silly monk, when I didn’t know what happens in a marriage, and she explained it to me. And people came from Ephraim of Arizona to Evrychou (Cyprus) to tell me what happened. And the third was witchcraft and satan worship. You see, true saints are concerned and have a complete picture of both the world and the Church.
And do not forget the beautiful word of the Gospel, “He who receives a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet’s reward.” Some say to me from the other hierarchs, in the Synod, “But why do you concern yourself with these things?” I say to them, “I want a prophet’s reward. Not from you, from above. But it’s written in the Gospel.” But I have to be careful too. Not whatever prophecy I read, or whoever says something. What I do? I usually say the prophecies that are either in the Revelation of St. John the Theologian, or from the later saints that I cross-check that they were repeated by not just one; two and three saints. Does not the Gospel say, “By the mouth of two or three witnesses every word shall be established”? Also all these questions about the prophecy that pertains to the people and events of, now listen to what it says here, the marble king. This was one of the most difficult topics I had to deal with; if the marble king is a myth. Is he a legend? Watch out! There is a difference between a legend and a myth. Legend means something fantastical. It may be heroic, but it’s fantastical A legend is a historical person that the myth develops its fringes on the historical person. For example, Basil from Digenes Akritas. He is a historical person of the 8th, 9th century. He had met with the emperor Romano Lakapenos. But his heroic deeds... The people when they began to submit them to the Latins, the Franks, the Turks, to be inspired, gave him such powers that only angels could possess. He flew, it says, from Lebanon and came to the Pentadaktylos mountains, and he caught hold of the Pentadaktylos, and his hand was imprinted there, and thus the Pentadaktylos mountains with the five fingers were created. Do you understand what I mean? It goes from history, to legend, and then to mythology.
But the marbled king is a specific historical person who we celebrated the day before yesterday, on the day that Saint George of Karslidis is celebrated on, November 4. Saint King John the Vatatzes was also celebrated. And because when they reburied the relics of Vatatzes...Vatatzes lived in 1204 at the end of the 13th century in Nicaea, Bithynia. He was emperor there. When he fell asleep and then they opened his tomb they found his relics in their entirety; as it was with St. Spyridon. And they said, “Our king was marbled.” He became like a statue. He was not eaten by worm and earth and time. Even in 1922 we had testimonies of refugees from Asia Minor who saw this relic. Then it disappeared. What struck me...I would have thought that the marble king is a legend. But come on, if you put on the internet you’ll hear his Holiness Father Ephraim of Arizona who made the 19 monasteries, with all the miracles he’s doing now and the apparitions, to say that he believes and was told by a bishop of Miletusopolis ,Hierotheos, that the marble king is a real person, hidden by some crypto-Christians of Constantinople in some basement and it is only a matter of time before he is slowly resurrected. Christopher will ask me now. Do you, my bishop, believe it? Yes, Christopher, I do. Why do I believe it? Because Father Ephraim of Arizona said so.
At the Second Coming, those of the prophets who have not yet died, Enoch and the prophet Elijah. And by the way we say this about these two who are written in the Revelation of St. John. How will the Christians at that time understand who the real antichrist is? They will understand why Christ, our God, will then allow them to be “resurrected” because they have not died. These two, Enoch and the prophet Elijah, to tell the Christians at that time to not listen to him; he is the antichrist. So have you thought about how much love Christ has for Christians; for the believers? He will even send two Old Testament prophets alive to go around all the countries. And even says there will be such technology that when the antichrist kills them, because they have to die too, one death we all have. This was the case for the perfect God and perfect Man. Won’t the prophet Elijah and the prophet Enoch have it? He shall kill them, it says, and the kings and rulers of the world at that time will be so happy that they shall exchange gifts among themselves. We are talking nonsense. (sarcastically) But the Christians shall know, it says, and all shall see their death. He’s going to put them in the Jerusalem square, it says, the remains of the two to disappoint them; to make the Christians sad. And everyone will see it. And they wondered 100 years ago, but how will everyone see it, will everyone get insight? How will they see it? Whereas now we know very well how we can see what’s going on anywhere.
Question: “The blonde one?”
Metropolitan Neophytos of Morphou: “Yes, of course! And that’s what we believe. It means the Slavic tribes; the Russians and others. The capture of Constantinople is misspelled here... The liberation of Constantinople as the lady said before... And that will happen. And St. Paisios stressed this many times. It’s a prophecy of his too, Saint Limassol. The illumination of Orthodoxy. The illumination of Orthodoxy is a subject that in our time has divided those who deal with prophetic discourse into two camps; some agree and some disagree. And the illumination of Orthodoxy will happen. What do we mean when we say the term illumination of Orthodoxy? That when the wars are over, the third world war and other local wars, those of us who are alive... I have an idea that I will live. I’m not very happy to live. I say this, which is not a joke, because those of us who live will have a painful time. Know this. With much patience, all our faith will be tested. “Let the beam stand, lest it fall.” He who thinks he stands, let him beware lest he fall. Those of us who live, because the population of the earth will be greatly reduced by nuclear weapons, famine, earthquakes, landslides... And this will happen throughout all nations, because these are times of the entire world that we have entered, that each nation will pay for its sins throughout history.
After this, Orthodox leaders will take control, at least in Constantinople and Russia. There will be a period, not too long, some say a few decades, when Orthodoxy will be declared throughout the entire world. Let no one have a complaint to say of Christ, a Chinese, an Indian, “But I, Christ, I didn’t know that You were God; that You were born, crucified, resurrected, and ascended.” It will be preached to all. Some will believe, some will not believe. This is the illumination of Orthodoxy. Not as some interpret it that the Greeks will dominate. No nationalisms in the prophecies. Nor the Russians. The Russians will also have their humiliation as we have it now. God takes care of all of us. And God’s care... Do you know what God’s care is? It is not our glory. It’s our humility. The way in which He allows each of us personally, and each nation to be humbled. What we are living as Cyprus now 50 years of occupation, is it not humbling for us? To wake up every morning and see the Turkish flag across the Pentadaktylos mountains? Are all these things that I have described to you just tricks of the devil to deceive the chosen ones? No, these are not tricks of the devil. These are real facts which some “prophetologists”, not prophets, “prophetologists”, that is, those who deal with prophecy like me... have missed. And I, too, may in an interpretation that I make of a prophecy be wrong. I am not infallible. I am not the Pope. Nor do I want to be a Pope. I want to be a priest, not a pope.”
Question: “How can we know that some prophecies have been fulfilled?”
Metropolitan Neophytos of Morphou: “You don’t have to understand it, my dear. You will feel it, as I felt it when in Gaza there was all this evil that is still going on. Until yesterday the Jews flattened the only hospital to the ground. Think about it. Isn’t this a fulfillment of St. Paisios’ prophecy that Palestine will become a stadium? Not that it will happen. It is happening now. But there’s a distinction to be made. When a prophecy is fulfilled and when you still have to wait for it. It may be the beginning of verification. Don’t be in a hurry, holy Morphou, to go on the air and say, I told you, and you didn’t believe me. There may be other events to come. So I tell you, dealing with prophecy takes a lot of patience, a lot of humility. To expect that many will not believe you. They will mock you. They will ridicule you. As it was in the Old Testament with the prophets. And also we must have a distinction between two. One is a prophet, a person who has a prophetic gift in either the Old Testament or the New Testament, and another is a prophetologist. A prophetologist is one who studies the prophecies, transmits them to the people, not all but some of them, interprets them, and needs a lot of prayer. And one man says, whose books I’ve been reading lately who has been dealing with these, Father Athanasios Mitilinaios, I recommend his books to all to read. Light, light, light! It was said by one of the contemporary saints that to him was given by God the gift of interpreting the prophecies of the saints and the Apocalypse. Now these months I’ve been studying and am from excitement to excitement, this book, “The Revelation of John The Evangelist”. It is the Revelation of John by Father Athanasios Mitilinaios. They are transcribed speeches.
So far two volumes have been published, and one more will be published. I tell you, and only by reading these books will you learn your faith. It doesn’t just speak about Revelation. It speaks about many things. Especially all the fathers should read these three books. Our bookstore has them. And they are publications, for those in Greece or elsewhere “Orthodox Kypseli” in Thessaloniki. Look for them and find them. And it says, how did Mytilineos do the interpretation of the Apocalypse? With much prayer, it says, and with many tears. And when I read this I bowed down in shame and said, well, I’m praying. How many tears you have shed, Neophyte, to speak with such certainty? So either you deal with prophecy as a prophet, God gives you this great gift, or you deal with it as a prophetologist, that is, a scholar of prophecy, and pass it on to the people of the faithful who are interested, and you are humbled. You see a God who is constantly trying to bring me on the straight and narrow, even revealing my future, whether my own or the world’s or the local future of Cyprus, Greece, Italy and other countries, and I persist in my desires, in my sins. And you say, “What a state I’m in, God?” I mean I can tell you that dealing with the prophetic word has made me see many times, that at the same time I was reading I was also having bad thoughts, bad desires, anger and other bad things. To say to Him, “Jesus, please don’t take my sins into account, I am with You where I want to be.” And namely, if you will study the prophecies in such a spirit. Not curiosity. Prophecy is not newspaper and geopolitical analysis. No. The prophecy was given for my repentance. And if I fail to repent at least to humble myself, at least to acknowledge my immense sinfulness... And God has mercy on me and on you.
Question: Can the prayer and repentance of people with a pure heart overturn the prophecies? Or only God will give pedagogical solutions?
Metropolitan Neophytos of Morphou: “Of course they can overturn prophecies. We have the example in the Old Testament of the prophet Joel. The Saint who we see his icon on the column. May we have the repentance of the Ninevites. But those who have revelations either from Panagia, or from the saints... Panagia has a complaint that people today do not have repentance, or if they do it is some tiny seeds of repentance. It is more curiosity that we have, or fears and worries lest we lose our good fortune. When the latter will probably happen, since we cannot overturn the prophecies of the saints with our flimsy repentance and we see that we are running full speed towards a world war, then God will probably give pedagogical solutions.”
(Intro): “This is a prophecy concerning the last years of the Antichrist; when a parallel Church will be created, a false Church, that is, a pseudo-Church of the true Church. And they will have a Gospel in which the word of Christ will not be in it, but their own words. They will falsify the decisions of the Ecumenical Councils, the Services, the Divine Liturgy.”
Metropolitan Neophytos of Morphou: “Now you will tell me what are these solutions? Let me tell you one... that is doubled. A very great saint of Russia is St. Matrona the blind who is celebrated on May 2. I visited her relics. I venerated her. I honored her. The abbess there gave me her icon, and I brought it back and made a gift of it to the monastery in Orounta. I made a promise to this saint, as soon as my village Zodeia is freed (from Turkish occupation), I will make a chapel for her. A good Zodian woman, Emilia, who lives in Limassol, came as soon as she heard this, with what she inherited from her grandfather, and said to me, “I give you the olive grove as long as you build a chapel of St. Matrona in it.” Do you hear what people we have? And the olive grove is occupied (by the Turks). That’s what faith is, trusting the other person. When everything tells you, what absurdity is this? Now will Morfu, Zodia, and Kyrenia be freed? Yes, sir, it will be freed; when the Kurds make their own state. She was buried in 1952 in Moscow. Saint Matrona says, “Before the great world war that’s going to happen...” and she says there to the students, “You may reach it or your children may reach it.”, she gives them a time frame, not after 500 years. So she says to them, “God will give pedagogical solutions because he has compassion for each individual person and doesn’t want them to perish.” “He will allow some people who are kind, good people, but have a little bit of a problem with faith, they may be of little faith, unconfessed, they may have some sin that they love very much and have not cut it off..” “He will allow for these people who are good-natured, or scared people who have psychological problems, to die in order not to live the hard times of the world war.” The students having heard this and wondering amongst themselves, ask, “How will they die, Gerontissa?” Some will die with incurable diseases and others will die from accidents.
So our concern, my brethren who are present, should be eternal life. Not whether the world war will be in a month, a year, or a five-year period. And God knows the strength of everyone’s soul. Many questions, most of them, express people’s anxiety about when the prophecies will be fulfilled, how much they will affect their way of life and the place where they live, and what harm will come to their country. And many ask what they should do to remove their fear of what is coming. I think the answer has been given by the European Union a few days ago. They sent it to me. And the “Liberal” even that used to mock us. November 1st, 2024 prepare food and medicine for 72 hours. Are you listening? The European Union, the Satanists. And in Norway, they said not 72 hours, but a week. They know something more, maybe they’re in more danger. There’s a prophecy from 400 years ago that says, “Thou art in the nations of the north.” It’s not just St. Paisios who prophesied. Prophecy is a gift given to all ages, to all the saints of God according to desire. And here comes Europe, the atheists, the satanists, and they say, you know, “the recommendations came about under the weight of threats of possible cyber attacks from Russia and China,” “a possible military attack on any member state, a possible disruption in the global economy, and the threatening weather changes due to the climate crisis.” This is as far as I can read. After a few days they had Valencia in Spain put to death (they had severe flooding).
So... It says the climate... The climate crisis. The Greeks who have more humor than the Cypriots... When they talk to the Greeks about the climate crisis, what do you think they call the climate crisis? Yes, yes, they say, there is a crisis in the vine. Sorry, the climate is in trouble. I know it has a problem. Who caused the problem? Just the planes spraying us? Just the HAARP and the ships that send out radiation and cause floods, earthquakes, sinkholes? And these things are happening nowadays with the demonic technology that we have developed not only in the West but other nations as well. My child, the problem is our sin. Why? Because this world, this universe has a Creator, the Triune God. And this God will never, never allow His creation to be destroyed. But when He sees that the energies of men are in such a way that the demons get rights from our own sins... His providence from the airs, from the heavenly bodies, meteors, other planets, other galaxies, God takes it away for the time being. And He says to you, “Since they do not want mercy, they do not have people to pray sufficiently in Valencia, in Thessaly, in Paphos; over there, the other day, they almost died worse. And in Limassol. But it seems some people are praying, some priests are liturgizing with their hearts. Big deal, Fathers, this is a big deal. And so the demonic energies are collecting, gathering together in a city, in an area where all these carnal sins are taking place that we described before and other times, where abortions are taking place and nobody repents, where there is witchcraft, and satanism.
Excuse me, don’t all these things gather energy? Do you understand what I mean? Everybody sits around and says, especially the religious, the zealots, it’s their fault for spraying us, it’s their fault for bringing us their contraptions, their technology. Here, a simple priest when it is dry and not raining (drought) on his knees, his eyes water a little, reads three blessings and immediately it rains. What is this? A reversal of the so-called laws of nature. Where the natural law says, Cyprus will have a drought for four years. But come what may, it has humble priests and humble believers who pray, who make litanies with relics, with icons that attract the power of God, the grace of God, and our God comes and covers our city. And if the tenfold evil was supposed to come, only twofold comes. Instead of a hurricane coming like it did in Florida, it comes like a tornado. Do you understand? It’s up to us. We have so much power in our hands, and we have come to be modern Christians who are fearful people. And to wait... Crete will be taken by the Turks as one of the prophecies says, Rhodes perhaps, Cyprus will be taken over in its entirety. I remember when I went to Mount Athos as a twenty-year-old boy and they said to me, “We have an old Cypriot elder here in Koutloumousiou and you should go and see him.” “Not only Paisios is enlightened.” It was old Joseph; later on of Vatopedi. “What are you going to do, Omire?”, he says.
As soon as I told him I was thinking of becoming a priest... I had not yet decided whether I would be married or unmarried. He says, “You’re very clever, you. Are you going to be a priest?” I stayed and watched him. So they’re going to act like fools? In the end, what does he say? “And don’t go to Cyprus. We were there and we left. Cyprus has no future.” I said, “If I’m going to be a monk, I’ll go to Stavrovouni (in Cyprus), I like the gheronda there, he is an old man.” “Where are you going to go to Stavrovouni?” he says. “The Turks will drop a bomb from the Pentadaktylos and because it’s the Army camp below. There will be nothing left of Stavrovouni.” I didn’t listen to him. I came to Cyprus to take the bomb. (Jokes about someone eating and bombs) Do you understand what I mean? Even people of prayer, motivated by their own feelings, can tell you wrong things. No one is infallible. Even some prophecies you have to make them inactive. Do not act upon them children! We have 3 or 4 that say that southern Crete will have problems. Sorry, Crete produced so many saints in the 20th century. I know five in the 20th century. Let the Cretans pray, hold vigils, and see if the Turks will dare. Even if they come, they won’t do much. It’s not only about dancing the pentozale (traditional Cretan dance), and being proud of the women of the South. It’s a virtue to kneel and change God’s will.
Because God wants good, and when He sees us approaching Him in a good way. What is the good way? The humble way, the painful way. That’s when things change. So we are not in bondage to prophecy. St. Porphyrios said, “Prophecy was given, and is given to men, with the intention that it will never be fulfilled.” Understand? Do you understand? Prophecy was given and is given to men with the intention that it will never be fulfilled. So it’s up to us. Not to sit around like idiots watching TV and wait, World War III is coming, now the Jews will kill the Persians and then Russia and China will come down. The Euphrates will dry up. This is what we talked about three years ago. Psalter. You make teams. Ten-ten. (Two groups of people alternate reading different half of Psalter each day.) Today people came from Canada to Flasu, where we had a feast of St. Demetrios, and they told me they have dozens and dozens of people reading the Psalter. 100 in Montreal, another 50 in Vancouver who are reading the Psalter and they don’t want to leave Canada and let Canada have its own prophecies. He says, “We will sit where God’s providence has got us and fight to make it as little as possible. With the Psalter that we read ten-ten every day, with our many Liturgies, and listening to your talks.” “And if God wills,” said one to me, “that I should die, let me die. Before or after, death is inevitable.”
Shall I shut up now? Here a 30 year old boy, Constantine, with a motorcycle ascended up to heaven. Understand? Your Eminence, you mentioned St Gabriel of Georgia who in his prophecies says that people of evil will be baptised and will also enter the Church. Yes. This is a prophecy concerning the last years of the Antichrist; when a parallel Church will be created, a false Church, that is, a pseudo-Church of the true Church. And they will have a Gospel in which the word of Christ will not be in it, but their own words. They will falsify the decisions of the Ecumenical Councils, the Services, the Divine Liturgy. There is even a terrible vision, that is a prophecy, of the great saint of Russia, St. Seraphim of Sarov. To whom did it appear? To the saint of the early 20th century, to St. John of Kronstadt... And he showed him the things you speak of. Indeed, these things will be done, but they are not in our time. One thing that these saints said, especially St. John of Kronstadt, and it concerns our generation is that the services, they will be censored by the bishops themselves. They will prune them. That’s what happened. That is to say, Orthros was not the one we have now for only an hour. The Orthros service had Canons, it had psalms. The service lasted for a long time until the 1900’s when the Bavarians came to Greece. And the reason why it lasted a long time was to give the faithful a lot of time to collect their minds, which were scattered in business, in vices, in enmities among themselves. It takes time for our nous to gather themselves, and then to go to Liturgy, and open our mouths to receive Communion of the Body and Blood of Him who conquered death, who conquered the devil, who conquered sin.
The Germans, the Bavarians, in Greece and the Germans again in Russia, and in all the Orthodox countries, took care of it, and the Orthros from two and a half hours became half an hour or an hour. That is to say, certain things that these saints said have come true and we are living them without complaining, I mean we have accepted them. Whereas it was not so in the Church before about 1900. It was different. That’s why the Russians and the Greeks and the Romanians were held back with so many persecutions that we went through under the Turkish rule, under the Latin rule, under the Frankish rule; the papists wanting to spoil us. All these demons, the heretics, understood that the power of the Orthodox is their worship. But what is worship? It is our love, and that this worship of the Orthodox lasts for a long time and with power, so that the energy of God can enter our nous, and our nous can descend into our heart and thus activate the Holy Spirit that we received in baptism. This is what they understood. Our bishops at that time 120 years ago did not understand and accepted them. So you understand how much we today’s bishops need to attend? And if possible slowly prepare you people of the 21st century to find a way, for our nous to descend into our hearts easily. One way that God has enlightened me lately is to have hesychastic vigils. From 8:00 until 1:30 prayer rope, “Lord Jesus Christ have mercy on me”, Psalter, read the Canons of the day and 12:00 and onwards, not before 12:00 which many do, “blessed is the kingdom”. And make the Liturgy chanted without exaggerated chanting though. As it was again. Let the cantors admit that what you sing is not the same; in music I mean. In the second tone, and plagal fourth. More simple. And it was more simple, just to keep people simple, and to get the mind down to the heart. Can Satan stand that? So if we really want to help these time and our children, because we who are in our 60’s and above are already doomed. If we want to help our children, we have to be concerned not when the wars will happen and if we will survive and if we will have food and if Europe will send us. We have to be concerned about the food; the heavenly food. And the heavenly food is in the Psalter, it’s in the Liturgy, it’s in the services. That’s what St. Porphyrios used to tell me. “
(Intro): “What was this covid? Are you comparing the covid to what’s to come? Don’t be naive, unfortunately. Very great difficulties, my dear. What God will allow for everyone, not even Morphou and any Morphou can overcome. You want directives, to do this and that and this is enough. One must do five, one must do one, one must do half. Each according to his own strength. I have to do 20 with what I know.”
Metropolitan Neophytos of Morphou: “We said that in a few decades this illumination (of Orthodoxy) will last. And some people, like other apostles, will spread Christianity and the Gospel. Will these people be people, like the apostles were at that time, who had the Holy Spirit working in them and spreading the Gospel?” Can it be any man, uneducated, illiterate? Will God enlighten them to speak? After the resurgence (of Orthodoxy) we will have the antichrist, which means the children of today must be prepared for that antichrist age. Okay my daughter, I understand. After the resurgence (of Orthodoxy) we will have the antichrist, which means the children of today must be prepared for that antichrist age. What did I say, my daughter, earlier? Which is this way? We have to find a way to help the new generation to get the mind down to the heart. Many saints have said this. And the saint we mentioned earlier, Gabriel. Because he says the problem in the age of the antichrist, which I don’t agree with you, is in our children. It may be in our great-grandchildren. Why are you putting dates on it? God is, whatever He wants to, He will do. Some people tell me, give us a sequence of events. Lord have mercy. No one can do this thing. No one is allowed to do this thing. We are to be open because God is open and He expects from us as we said our repentance and our prayer. But the way to help the new generation, regardless of when the dreaded antichrist will come, which all the saints write that he will be very charming and the elect will be deceived. The first three years he says he will be doing charity and miracles in the air all the time. Many young people will then be fascinated by him and say, “He is God, he is the good man. Who solves our problem of work, work, work.” They will work a lot with technology.
That’s why Elon Musk, who is now jumping up and down about having his own president in America; what is his goal? His goal, he says, is to fill our brains with nanotechnology. Do you understand? That is, to guide us remotely because we will have very very small computers inside us, chips that will guide the heart of some, the brain of others, the kidneys of others, the thoughts, the emotions. That’s the kind of technology he’s dreaming of. Where God says... He said this the other day, “God will be incarnate in technology.” But what a demon he is. I tell you, he is more demonic than the new age because he envisions miracles without God. Fake, virtual, idols. And the Georgians asked St. Gabriel, “And how will the future generation be able to recognize that he is the antichrist? And how can they not believe?” And he told them about who the antichrist is, God who loves all times and all people will send the prophet Elijah and the prophet Enoch. And the second thing is that people, and especially bishops and priests, from now on people should make sure that people pick up their minds from the sensual things that we get stuck in various desires, hobbies, technologies, videos. Let us learn to collect our minds, repent, call upon the mercy of God, “Lord Jesus Christ have mercy on me” in pain. And then the mind will begin to descend to the heart and the heart will begin to weep, will begin to repent heartily, not brainily.
And then. now the Holy Spirit, which we received in our baptism and in our initiation, will guide everyone. The day before yesterday a great man came to me, what God sends me and I still do not correct myself. He went to three spiritual fathers; Cypriots. A handsome man, but what can I tell you. And he’s old enough to be a young man. He says to me, “The guilt hasn’t left me.” Even though he confessed to three confessors. “And I’m tormented and tormented. And I saw you at one of your talks on magic that you’ve been doing lately and I heard in my heart, ‘To him you should go and you might be helped.’” “And I came,” he says to me, “hopefully he can help me and I can forgive myself.” For the guilty man’s problem is not God. It is his ego; he does not forgive himself. I also said from within myself, “Jesus, help me to help him.” I said to him, “Have you been with 20 or so women?” I saw his gentleness, his beauty. I said, he’s 40 now, he’s like that, think about when he was 20, huh? What did he say to me. “20? 220!” I said to him, “Out of those 220, did any of them love you that didn’t see you as a body, but saw you as a soul?” Once I asked him this, he said, “Yes. Three loved me.” “And what did you do, I asked him?” “Out of these three girls who gave you their bodies did they also give you their souls?” And what did he tell me? “I put myself on their feet because I wasn’t ready for a serious relationship. And these girls cried so much, I hurt them so much.
And you’re still looking, my son.”, I said, “For what sin you should cry about? These three you will cry. You’ve punished three girls. And you corrupted not only their body, but their soul. And their soul was left incomplete.” But as soon as I told him this, he realized it, and he cried wildly. I let him cry, cry, cry to rest his soul. I said to him, ? “May I ask you one more question?” “If I can bear it.”, he says. I say, “Tell me, did you, you handsome man, love any of the 220?” He says, “Yes. The funny thing is, you know what it is,” he says. “I loved one.” Imagine, out of 220, he only loved one. And that one, he says, “I didn’t do anything with her, not even a kiss.” You hear? “And now,” he says to me, “now that the years have passed and I have had a son, I have a wife, and I am abstaining, now I understand why the Church wants true love to be spiritual first,” “then marriage in virginity, of man and woman, then physical, “then the two are one flesh” and then, with the help of the Church, it will become spiritual.” “Now I understand,” he says, “this thing. For of the 220 I went to, the one I loved was the one I had a platonic love for; a pure love towards.” In other words, you see here, people who have gone through all the secularization of our time, all of the physical, the pleasure, and slowly, slowly these people come and say to you, “At last I have entered the Church.”
And even if I am wounded by so much sin. And I expect from you priests, bishops catechism to learn my faith and help me to forgive myself.” I am sorry to tell you this, but it is to understand practically what we have said before. This man, when I read the blessing to him, but what can I say? The man was groaning with the grace that was being absorbed by his body and his soul. He says to me, “Can I come back next week?” “No, I said, come back after Christmas.” And I even told him about a spiritual man in the city, where he lives to go, not to come near me. I don’t want to be a father confessor. But some I accept because they have something special. I am very happy, when I see people who are enlightened by God, who are tired of sin, who God himself informs them. You ask, but how will children learn about the Antichrist, how will they deal with him in their time? Does God not love these people? He will enlighten them, my son, he will enlighten them, my daughter. He has His way. He had 220 and in the end He had none, none. Flesh for flesh’s sake. Sodom and Gomorrah. Another question? What the first lady first asked you about. If now the world has so much repentance, not many but many have. Especially the young. Will there not be then? Do you understand what will happen? The illumination will be after the world war. First, the people who survive will all be humbled, looking down and crying all the time. That’s why Hadjiflouretzos said, when you Cypriots return back to free Cyprus, that’s when there will be your tears. Because those who live, will be very humiliated. Of course!
We will bury our own people. We ask questions based on our own gratification. No more of that. But there will be a more spiritual time than what we have now. And God will show men who can teach the world “in the Holy Spirit.” I am 100% sure. I’ve been a bishop here in this region for 26 years and I see the priests that I inherited from the previous bishop Chrysanthos the Blessed, who sat in this climate that we created by the grace of God as we were taught by our elders, some priests made more progress than I did. I see them and people move on. Why when we give 5 and now receive 25, did you think after so much humiliation and so much pain... with the world war? Those who survive... will be apostolic people like the holy apostles. May God bless His people! And God will bless them! Others will be taken away as St. Matrona said either by accidents or by incurable diseases and those who live and survive and keep their faith and do not blaspheme then they will be the teachers. Something I told the deacon to remind me, since the beginning of the year on January 8, our first chancellor, Father Photios, we asked him and he accepted, he is a doctor of theology and an abstinent teacher of ancient Greek. And I asked him to the studentsof both Yianni Lembos and the dear Archon First Chantor Marios Antoniou, but not only to them, and to those of you who are interested in starting lessons of ancient Greek at the beginning of January. At 6.00 o’clock at the cultural center. Those of you who are interested, talk to either Yianni or Mario. There is an announcement on the internet with telephone numbers.
What does this have to do with the question the lady asked. Of course. Ancient Greek is the oldest, most historic and richest language in the world, according to age. It will be the language of the future. Just as English is now in an age of pleasure and money, in the future the language that will convey theology, spirituality, and Orthodoxy will be Greek. As it was in the time of the holy apostles. Whereupon I must see to it that from now onsome people are taught certain lessons that will help the youth. I have personally and in conversation with close associates of mine, qualified five courses. One is being done very successfully in the Metropolis of Morphou, and is being done in other dioceses, the teaching of Byzantine music. The second is theology, the Orthodox theology. By the grace of God we teach it through the lectures. That is why everyone sits and listens to the lectures from Canada to Australia. Because it has Orthodox faith in it; people learn their faith. The third is ancient Greek. Greek gives us an opportunity to formulate our faith clearly, precisely, and not to make sloppy statements and fallacies and heresies. “Let the wise be clear” You see, the Germans and the English made sure that we did not learn Greek and otherwise we are nationalists. Long live Greece. At least learn Greek since you say long live Greece. Apart from Greek, one lesson I believe the younger people should learn, and I have identified a priest in Paphos who is a student, is quantum physics. You young people should learn. There is a future for this science. And quantum physics will meet the doctrinal orthodoxy of the Orthodox Church.
And future scientists will have to deal with the mission. We said, music, quantum, theology (the ancient theology), antiquities and the fifth is... history. You can’t learn theology without history. You ask the kids today, “October 28th, what happened?” “But something happened”, he says, with a yes, with a no, but we don’t know who said it. History. God give me time and I very much like to teach history. So these five. Another question? What should they teach? One good thing that this Minister of Education and Europe did, was they said something about mobile phones. And I sent a message to the minister, one good thing you should do it. Don’t say one thing and then not implement it. Children should not be carrying cell phones to school. It is unethical to do that, especially at young ages. But I’m telling you, the problem is the cell phone. And let them listen to Morphus’ talks. Children shouldn’t have a lot of time with this technology. It softens the brain and the mind. It’s a form of disability. If the ministry can implement this at least at the young ages up to 15 to give children’s minds a little rest, so that they can start making friends with each other. They go out at break time and don’t talk. I go to the school and see for myself. I say, what a nice silence, it’s a break And there were 50 kids all like this (with their cell phones) all side by side. Not even to see their girlfriend or if there was pretty girl. We were watching. Why would I lie. It’s unnatural stuff. Do you understand what I mean? Abnormal. The almond tree bloomed. They didn’t even see it. We would see an almond tree and we would wrote a poem, didn’t we? Nothing. And who caused void in the children? Technology. I’m not talking about throwing away technology. Let’s have a limited use. Next question.
You’re telling us they’re going to teach ancient Greek, history, Byzantine music and quantum physics. All this because parents don’t do it themselves for their children. Our parents didn’t even finish primary school and they taught us these things and we are going through life. Because the parents themselves don’t do it. Or with cell phones. Why don’t they ban their children and have to ask the minister? You answer me why. When you set boundaries for someone from a young age, he’s always down to earth. Why don’t we do it? Let the parents answer us. You guys answer us. I don’t have children. I’ve tried, though, and I’ve set boundaries for them. Because parents get their peace of mind by giving their kids a cell phone and letting them keep another one to play with. Easy questions, you say. These are the ones we know. There are no answers to the ones you ask. That’s the way Europe wants it. To get people out with little ability, and knowledge, and skills. You know, stupid beings. And that word is a beautiful Greek word. A stupid one who is like a mollusk. What’s a mollusk? The snail with no backbone to stand on. Understand? Here’s a word we just said, Greek. If you call the young men over there, “The bishop said the word stupid.” But how that word came to be. It means something that can’t stand, has no backbone. That’s why snails are called mollusks, that’s why octopuses are called mollusks, cuttlefish are called mollusks because they don’t have a backbone. So they want us to make people, and parents, and children, and grandparents, now we have grandparents who are sick, so they want to make people like that. Who have no country, no language, no history, no morals and they can take them wherever they want to. The dumb and the dumb..
And this was prophesied by the great prophet of Romanity, St. Cosmas the Aetolian. Who said what? There will come a time when the people of the world will be led and directed by the people of the world to humbugs and bumbles (things unnatural). What are the humbugs and bumbles? These things. Do we have anything on the prophetic word? Let us not say to them the anxieties of the parents. Let the parents want to start having vigils and reading the Psalter. And then they will understand ancient Greek and read some history. Parents first. Not the children. No hypocrisy. You read history, you learn to pray, you read some theology. It’s a fashion now. All Christians are anxious about their children, but that’s about it. What can I do with your anxiety? I’m sorry to talk like this, but it’s just a way to have a foundation. Any other questions? If God’s providence allows those years during which the third world war either we are living or others are living, if God allows the faithful to be deprived of the Church... the union with God’s Body and Blood and confession which is the main food for the spiritual growth of the faithful. I am not worried because God will again find a way to replace this situation but from what we know so far, Psalter, Salutations to the Virgin Mary, Compline...
and all these will be enough at that time its very difficult to cope if we live through these bad times we lived through the time of covid to be deprived. What was this covid? Are you comparing the covid to what’s to come? Don’t be naive, unfortunately. Very great difficulties, my dear. What God will allow for everyone, not even Morphou and any Morphou can overcome. You want directives, to do this and that and this is enough. One must do five, one must do one, one must do half. Each according to his own strength. I have to do 20 with what I know.”
This lecture by Metropolitan Neophytos of Morphou was translated into English and published back in February 2025 on the ‘Uncreated Light Press’ YouTube channel.
