St. Paisios the Athonite (By Mt. Neophytos of Morphou)
In this interview Metropolitan Neophytos of Morphou refers in detail to the meetings he had in the past with Saints Porphyrios, Paisios the Athonite and Iakovos Tsalikis and what they prophetically, had revealed to him. This interview aired as an episode of the successful Cypriot series “24 Hours” and was broadcast by the TV channel “Alpha Cyprus” on June 6, 2020.
Constantinos: “How do you justify the fact, as you express it, that many of the events we live, have been predicted by these Holy Fathers?”
Metropolitan Neophytos of Morphou: “One moment, this is very easy (to answer). When, dear Constantinos, at a time I described to you earlier, we went to Saint Paisios and he said to me in 1982, 1983. (St. Paisios): “Child, Cypriot, tall [guy], the beast of the Soviet Union is collapsing.” (Brezhnev was the leader of Soviet Union then.) (I replied to St. Paisios), “What are you talking about, Elder? They [the Soviet Union] are ready to expand to the whole of Latin America.” “It is collapsing soon. Its feet are trembling. They can no longer hold. They publish fake news.” “First, they will fall, then Romania, and Yugoslavia will become 3-4 states.” What’s that? Is it geopolitics? Is it geostrategy? And it was fulfilled.
When Greece was entering the European Union (1981), he (St. Paisios) said, “They think that we earned value by acceding to the EU.” “Greece has value when it’s Greece. Do they not understand this thing?” “Europe cannot become America. First, the English will (rip) the (European) carpet and say, ‘No, we return to England.’”
Did these things take place? They did. The saint was saying these things to us, not to a third person, nor did we read them (elsewhere). He told me, “So many people will attempt to solve the Cypriot problem. It won’t be solved with blah blah, my child.” “There will be war elsewhere, not in Cyprus. You will endure a slap.” Until today, we seek to find what this slap will be exactly. Some said it was (the incident that took place on the 11th of July 2011 in) Mari. I don’t think so. I think it’s something that has to do with the Exclusive Economic Zone (of Cyprus).
He (St. Paisios) said, “After this Great War which will take place between Russia and Turkey, it’s then that Cyprus will earn its share of freedom.” He spoke about the liberation of Constantinople. Some people freak out when they hear about it. He talked about the shrinking of Turkey, not its dissolution as we used to say. This term was wrong. He talked about the shrinking of Turkey, it will continue to exist, but smaller (in size). The Greeks will take the territories they are entitled to. The Pontic Greeks. All these won’t be realized by us. He (St. Paisios) said that we will be on the ventilator. The saints speak symbolically. He (St. Paisios) talked about the Memorandums (imposed on Greece in 2010 and later), the unbearable taxes they will impose.
He interpreted what the other saint, Saint Kosmas the Aetolian, said also in the Holy Spirit 250 years ago who talked about the “examilia.” “When you see the Turks coming to ‘examilia,’ the war between Russia and Turkey is starting” (St. Kosmas the Aetolian). We, the dumb ones, thought until recently, that “examilia” is a location in Greece. There are (locations named) “examilia” in Corinth, (and) outside Thessaloniki. St. Paisios with the enlightenment of the Holy Spirit said, “No, my child, ‘examilia’ are the six nautical miles of the territorial sea.” He was saying these things at a time we did not know that these terms [even] existed, “territorial sea,” “Exclusive Economic Zone.”
Thus, when he told me you will go to Cyprus and build monasteries with two yards; and, indeed, they have been made, one in Orounta, another one in Mavrovouni, now in Skouriotissa. And I was only a child of 22 years old [when he told me these things] and they have been realized. St. Iakovos told me that I would be a bishop at the place of my birth. Why did he not say Lemessos (instead)? Why did he not say Paphos? Although, they had told me these things, I did not pay much attention to them. “I had put them in the freezer.”
Later, I realized that the Cypriot problem would not be solved through talks, nor through reproachments and slogans of co-existence. And that Erdogan wanted to build the Great Ottoman Empire. His fame has reached Sahara right now. I then understood that the intuition of the Archbishop was right. He might not know how to term (these things) with a word like mine or somebody else’s, but his intuition is right. When he told me, “Saint of Morphou, there can’t be a village with them. They are conquerors.” This whole shift in my mind (towards the things the saints had told me), I told you that I had met all these saints and I trusted them, took place somewhere in 2008-2010. I travelled a lot back then. I went to Constantinople, Cappadocia, Damascus, Jerusalem. I was shocked by Jerusalem, beyond the spiritual (stuff). I realized that there [lies] the center of the earth.
That everyone will return to Jerusalem. That what the Revelation says are really strong pieces. The environmental problem, when I saw the fires multiplying in the whole world, and the Revelation says, “And a third of the trees were burned up” (Revelation 8:7) and it did burn up! When Revelations talks about Chernobyl. “Wormwood” (Revelation 8:11), in Ukrainian, is read as “Chernobyl.” There cannot be life without Christ. The western civilization rejected Christ. This is what New World Order and Bill Gates and H. Kissinger mean. A life without Christ, that’s what they want. When I realized all that, I studied my faith again, the prophecies of the saints I met personally and I noticed that the web plays an important role among people under the age of 50.
And no one of the archpriests was occupying himself with it, as if they were scared. Something like the mockery of the deme and the sophists (probably meaning that talking about the prophecies of the orthodox saints is generally mocked by public). I ignore these (accusations). So, if certain politicians want to speak against me day and night, let them do so.”
