The 7 Phases text is not what many believe it to be. This is why I removed the video from the The Holy Wisdom YouTube channel. In this article, we will examine the original text, along with the two other versions that have circulated within Orthodox prophecy circles, to clarify its origins and correct common misattributions.
When I translated the latest and most well-known version (the third version) of the text back in 2024, I was not aware of the original text and forerunner. Later, during last summer, one of my subscribers contacted me regarding a possible misattribution to Elder Joseph of Vatopedi. This prompted me to research the so-called “7 Phases” text more diligently. I reached out to people within Greek Orthodox prophecy circles and asked about the text.
Even for someone like myself, who spends considerable time researching Orthodox prophecies, I encountered a certain degree of difficulty concerning the origin of the text. I heard many different claims, ranging from the idea that most of the text originated from the prophecies of Elder Joseph of Vatopedi, to references to the so-called Elder Athanasius of Evia, Father Ephraim of the Peloponnese and Mr. George.
I had previously heard of Father Ephraim of the Peloponnese in connection with the The Zero Hour Prophecies Series, a text that remains highly disputed within Greek prophecy circles. At that point, I began to have even more questions.
It was also the first time I had heard the name Elder Athanasius of Evia. I asked myself how it was possible that I had never heard of this elder before, especially since I live in Evia. I asked around locally, but nobody seemed to know of such an elder’s existence. This led me to conclude that the name was likely a fictional character or a pen name.
Later, this suspicion was confirmed when I came into contact with some former members of the now inaccessible forum forum.christian-orthodox.gr. After several discussions with them about the text, they informed me that there had been a member of the forum named Dimos who had written a series of posts back in 2008. Impressed by those posts and the remarkable level of detail they contained, some members had preserved the original writings.
The story begins in September 2008 with a post by Dimos on the Greek Orthodox Forum, a series of posts that would later become known as “The 7 Phases of World War III”
Below, you will find an English translation of the original forum posts, followed by the various versions that have appeared over the years since the original publication.

“This generation of people,” he told me, “has distanced itself from God, from the Grace of God. Each of us thinks that he succeeds in everything on his own and has no need of any God in order to progress. As long as technology is doing well and the wallet is full, everything will be solved. But this technology is exactly what will destroy us!!!” (He told me that the Russians have such secret weapons that, when they use them, they will destroy entire countries as if they were toys.)

When, my brothers, I visited this clergyman, I opened a discussion with him about the future events. He understood my intention and told me that spiritually I would gain NO benefit, I would only satisfy human and sinful curiosity. I INSISTED, INSISTED, and he told me that only a few things could be said (to be precise, TO WRITE DOWN) to some people who have the same mindset and worries as you.

Despite the fatigue I have I’ve been on my feet since 6 in the morning because of work I will begin writing. I say begin, because there is much I must write and I cannot manage quickly.
Everything the Saints of our Church have written will come to pass down to the last detail. (He told me that when he was young he had read the prophecies of St. Kosmas of Aetolia and had been shaken. He prayed and begged carelessly back then for the Lord to reveal to him when the events would happen.)
But one visit to Mount Athos, and the words of an Elder, made him understand his mistake. The Lord and only Him will decide if someone is worthy to be “filled” with His mercy.
And suddenly, one night while he was praying (back when the Turks killed Solomos and Isaak), the future began to unfold before him “as if I were watching a movie,” he told me. I, children, am certain he hid something unpleasant from me.

This ability of theirs to move large forces across great distances very quickly will be a major advantage for the Russians, and will be due to new unknown aircrafts that will be like Flying Saucers.
Then they will turn to the Balkans to help the Serbs, who will be under attack from NATO and Muslim and Catholic Balkan states and they will win.

The detailed military analysis I presented is due to the fact that he himself fought as a reserve second lieutenant in the Korean War, and therefore saw military events with a different eye.
King John, after his rise to the throne, will continue the wars this time against the Chinese. (How could the Greek army, together with some allies from Orthodox countries, 100–150 thousand men, fight against a 200‑million‑strong army?) Unless the Lord intervened openly to crush His enemies? But we have not finished with the First War.
The Russians will pull back to Eastern Thrace and the opposite Asian territories. The Westerners will land in Albania and, through the Via Egnatia which, however, will have been largely destroyed will begin moving eastward. But because they will have great difficulty moving through a destroyed road network (bombed roads, blown‑up bridges, and under heavy Russian attacks), they will make a cunning decision.
They will channel the LARGEST part of their forces into Greece’s Egnatia Highway. This will happen partly because Greece will be neutral and its road network will not have suffered any destruction, and partly because Greece will be an informal ally of Russia the Russians would not dare strike a “friendly” and sympathetic country.
And so it will be. But the Allies will hate the Greeks terribly because they did not fight the Russians, and therefore have no destructions or losses unlike the Allies, whose countries will have been ruined and whose loved ones may be dead.
Woe to the Greeks who fall into their hands. With ridiculous excuses each farmer or shepherd being asked whether the Constantinople is near or far they will be tortured to death. They will deviate from their route and storm into large and small towns.
The atrocities of the Crusades will be repeated. Homes will be looted, women of all ages will be raped, people will be murdered, CHURCHES will be burned, priests will be humiliated. And the evil will be continuous, because as soon as one military unit leaves, the next will arrive…
The only salvation will be fleeing to the mountains and hiding in the forests. Woe to the elderly, the pregnant, the small children, and the helpless.
But the “reward” of the new Crusaders will be heavy and disastrous before the walls of Constantinople.

My purpose was never, in any way, to bring division and discord among Greeks, Orthodox Christians. I wanted to share with you some things I learned exactly one year ago things I did not believe at first, but events came and proved him right.

The NATO forces, because there will be traffic congestion on the Egnatia Road! (The Elder told me the troops will be around 3 million), will send part of their forces through Thessaly. Terrible destruction will await the inhabitants of the areas through which they will pass. The villages in the plains will be destroyed, since there will be no natural cover. Those who will survive will be the villages on the foothills of Olympus and Kissavos.

CURSED is the one who refuses to take in a Christian. The one who thinks only of his own children and leaves the children of others to die. (For such events he described to us.)
The hand that will knock on your door will not be only the hand of the hungry, but also the hand of an Angel, who will test you by command of our Lord.
Cursed is the one who asks for money to host the persecuted, who dishonors women.
May you have the blessing of our Lord, you who will open your homes.
Your food will seem as if it is running out and it will never run out. Angels of the Lord will reveal to you where you will find food.
Always have with you water from Holy Water (Agiasma). Drop even one drop into cloudy water, say a small prayer, and the water will become drinkable.

The salvation of humanity is in the hands of our Lord.
The turmoil that the global rulers will feel will lead them to spasmodic actions. (We will experience this in a few days.)
Some of the rulers will not be “cooperative” and blind instruments. A little Christian faith, a little love of homeland, and a little love for their families will stir within them. They will resist. They will fight them. They will be murdered (it will appear as suicide).
Then, a few years later, in 2011, the second version of the texts appeared in a YouTube video titled A Prophecy About the Things That Are Coming. The video went viral, eventually reaching nearly 500,000 views. The text is as follows.

An elderly cleric, who wished to keep his anonymity, said the following to one of his spiritual children regarding those fearful events that are coming. Two of them have already come to pass (the Russia–Georgia war and, as he mentions, the deliberate collapse of the stock markets). With the hope that nothing else will be fulfilled and that this elder was mistaken, I give you his words exactly as his spiritual child wrote them down. I emphasize that this text came into my hands before the economic crisis of October 2008, which it predicts precisely.

The people whose countries will be at war will run and beg God, but they will not be heard. The others, who will live in non‑belligerent countries, will not take example from the misfortunes of their neighbors, but will seek war and destruction in order to take revenge on their enemies. The war will spread on a global scale. Ruins, hunger, misery, revolutions, looting, diseases will prevail.
The first war was the one that took place in Georgia. Russia will receive yet another provocation–attack from Georgia, and this time it will destroy it completely. Unfortunately, the losses of Georgia’s civilian population will be terrifying.
While the Russians are fighting in Georgia, the Ukrainians will also be stirred up by the Americans to make serious provocations against the Russians. Turkey will allow American ships and aircraft to pass through its airspace and the straits in order to strike the Russians.”
From that point begins the countdown for the Turks. The Russians will very quickly subdue the Ukrainians in fact, very few Ukrainians will fight the Russians and they will be received with enthusiasm in the cities. Above Ukraine and the Black Sea, Americans and Russians will fight for the first time, and the Russians will prevail overwhelmingly. In Turkey, a dictatorship will have been imposed, while the Kurds will revolt.
Global economic turmoil
Economies collapse one after another, payments stop, popular uprisings break out with economic demands, and Europeans refuse conscription. A key point confirming the credibility of what I am recounting is this: the conversation with the elder took place in September 2007.
Soon the American–Israeli attack on Iran will occur. The war will begin from below, for the blessing of Greece. But war will also break out in our neighborhood. Albanians, Croats, Bosnian Muslims, Americans, and a little NATO against Serbia–Russia.
In Greece the government will fall and we will go to elections. Exactly then, the junta governing Turkey will attack us. The elder told me, however, that anyone who gives precise dates for when something will happen is deluded, and we should not take it into account.
Something last from the elder, whom I visited today to clarify some things that some brothers asked me:

Their passage will be very fast. This ability of theirs to transport large forces over great distances very quickly will be a major advantage for the Russians and will be due to new, unknown aircraft that will be like flying discs.
After that they will turn to the Balkans to help the Serbs, who will be under attack from NATO‑aligned Muslim and Catholic Balkan states, and they will win.
What will break the Russians and lead them to withdraw their forces will be the betrayal of the Chinese. Although at first they will be with them, later in exchange for the greatest concession ever given in the world, the possession of all Siberia the Chinese will pull out and, worse, will allow the allied forces to strike the Russians from behind.
But we are not finished with the first war. The Russians will fall back to Eastern Thrace and the opposite Asian territories. The Westerners will land in Albania and, through the Para‑Egnatia which, however, will have been largely destroyed will begin moving eastward.
But because they will have great difficulty moving through a destroyed road network bombed roads, blown‑up bridges, and under heavy Russian attacks they will make a cunning decision. They will channel the greater part of their forces into the Egnatia Road of our Greece.
This will happen partly because Greece will be neutral, will not have suffered any destruction, and its road network will be intact; and partly because Greece will be an informal ally of Russia. The Russians would not dare strike a “friendly” and sympathetic country.
And so it will be. However, the allies will hate the Greeks terribly, because they did not fight the Russians, and therefore have no destruction or losses like the allies themselves, whose countries will be ruined and whose loved ones may be dead.
Woe to the Greeks who will fall into their hands. With ridiculous excuses each farmer or shepherd being asked whether the city is near or far they will be tortured to death. They will deviate from their route and rush into large and small cities.
The atrocities of the Crusades will be repeated. Houses will be looted, women of all ages will be raped, people will be murdered, churches will be set on fire, priests will be humiliated, and the evil will be continuous, because as soon as one military unit leaves, the next will arrive.
The only salvation will be flight to the mountains and hiding in the forests. Woe to the elderly, the pregnant women, the small children, and the helpless. But the “wages” of the new crusaders will be heavy and disastrous before the walls of Constantinople.
Because on the Egnatia Road there will be traffic congestion the elder told me the troops will be about three million the NATO forces will send part of them through Thessaly. Terrible destruction will await the inhabitants of the areas through which they will pass.
The villages of the plain will be destroyed completely, as there will be no natural cover. Those who will survive will be the villages at the foothills of Olympus and Kissavos. The forces from Thessaly and from above the Egnatia will join outside Thessaloniki. A new fall will await the city. Atrocities will await the fortunately few remaining inhabitants.
During the brief Greek–Turkish clash, not a single Greek soldier will be killed. There will, however, be injuries. The soldiers will have their fingers on the trigger. There will be gunfire and cannon fire mainly on the islands but these will be spontaneous actions.
I could not understand what kind of war this would be, since not a single Greek would be dead. Divine Protection will shield us, and afterwards the enlightened military leadership, which is already preparing the country’s defensive doctrine according to the coming events.
The Turks have planned from here on, some events will be omitted, others shortened, and others silenced for obvious reasons to seize many large Greek islands.
At the same time, they will stir up economic migrants of the same religion as theirs, with military equipment already located in predetermined places within our country. Acts of sabotage blowing up bridges and roads, arson will be their mission. The security services of our country know everything. The most dangerous sabotage will be against the aqueducts and the drinking water.
From information the Turks will have, they will realize that the operation to seize Greek islands will amount to a tragedy. Then they will attempt the ultimate surprise attack, striking mainland Greece head‑on.
They will load their army onto ships and head for a landing from Kavala all the way to Athens! They will believe that we have placed all our weight on the islands and have left the mainland unguarded. They will come within a breath of their target six nautical miles from the shores. There destruction will strike them.
When the Turks see that they cannot capture the islands of the Aegean, they will attack Cyprus as a diversion.
There fierce battles will take place. There will be heavy losses, both in the army and among the civilian population. Fortunately, the rapid descent of the Russians will force them to withdraw all their forces in order to defend their homeland. Then the Greek‑Cypriot forces will recapture the occupied territories. Unfortunately, events of ethnic cleansing will occur.
Some of the young people asked what will happen to America. Unfortunately, total destruction. Of the three hundred million it has now, 90% will lose their lives from every cause resulting from the war. Naturally, I do not remember the events after so long. When I visited the elder, I wrote them down on paper and asked other spiritual children of his as well.

The governor was informed vaguely about its contents; he never read the letter himself. Because then and now dozens of letters are sent to the leader of that country almost all of them products of delusion they considered the letter of our Saint to be of little importance. That will be their punishment.
The global crisis has begun. It will fluctuate. They are trying to sow despair and panic among humanity. How many of our fellow citizens will want to listen to spiritual counsel from spiritual fathers when they lose their deposits and savings? When they are fired from their jobs? When their loan installments increase tenfold overnight?
After a surge of the crisis, in the first days afterwards it will appear that everything is under control. Exactly then they will strike again, harder and more mercilessly. People will commit suicide in their homes and workplaces. Shops and banks will be set on fire and looted. The economy will collapse. Unprecedented taxes will be imposed. You will even have to pay tax for pets.
However, the coming war will overturn everything. Money, gold, precious stones the elder said we should not worry about protecting them. Let everything be lost. They are not going to save us.
“Do not be afraid nor lose heart,” said the elder, “when the events begin. Our Lord, with His Most Holy Mother and all the Saints, have joined hands and encircled our Greece.
Every hostile action against us will collapse. Whoever has a spiritual father should consult only him. Whoever does not have a spiritual father but believes in the Lord in those days the Hierarchy of Greece, in emergency sessions, will issue saving and soul‑beneficial announcements.
As soon as the first storm passes, let each person provide what is necessary. According to the members of his family, let the essentials be available. You who have had the blessing to learn of the coming calamities but also of the resurrection of our nation,” said the elder to his spiritual children, “have a sacred duty to help every Christian who knocks on your door.
You will give even from your lack, not from your surplus. Cursed be the one who refuses to take in a Christian. The one who thinks only of his own children and leaves the foreign little ones to die for such events he described to us.
The hand that will knock on your door will not only be the hand of the hungry, but also of the Angel, who will test you by the command of our Lord.
Cursed be the one who asks for money to host the persecuted, who dishonors women. May you have the blessing of our Lord, you who will open your homes.
Your food will seem to be running out and will never run out. Angels of the Lord will reveal to you where you will find nourishment. Always have with you water from holy water. Even one drop to pour into murky water, and to say a small prayer, and the water will become drinkable.”
Now we arrive at the third version, and probably the most well-known version, which appeared on the Anargyros61 Blogspot in 2020 under the title The Reading of Prophecies. This version surfaced more than a decade after the original forum posts and is the version that became most widely circulated in Orthodox prophecy circles.
3THE READING OF PROPHECIES (JOSEPH OF VATOPEDI)

The late Elder Joseph of Vatopedi foretold as early as 2007 the war-related events that would shake humanity.
“The war will eventually spread gradually on a global scale. Ruins, destruction, hunger, misery, plunder, and disease will prevail everywhere.”
This text was published on January 6, 2009, by the Holy Abbot Gabriel Tsitas of the monastery of Saint Mark in Chios built under Saint Parthenios of Chios, and it is the original. The prophecies that are revealed to the Saints of our church under the Holy Spirit emanate and therefore are full of truth and will be accurately verified. The Fathers point out that although the future is revealed prophetically so that the faithful can be spiritually awakened and recognize the signs of the times, it is not possible to fully interpret them, only after their realization. To many Saints, God revealed the secret mysteries of the future, to the extent that he himself willed and allowed them to be recorded, only what he allowed, usually in an allegorical way, so that they could be understood by those who are fasting, in communion with God, and worthy of salvation. This is particularly characteristic in the case of the prophecies concerning the end times and even more so in the Book of the Revelation of the evangelist John. The Saints have partially interpreted this prophetic book, as the Lord wanted to keep it a secret from many, until today.
Thus, we are mainly talking about approaching the prophets and not about their complete interpretation. The more humanity marches towards the antichrist and his seal, the more the content of the prophecies will be understood. We quote the words of a contemporary Elder, spoken in September 2007 by Father Joseph of Vatopedi. They are of particular interest and seem to be a contemporary revelation of God, as they are closely in line with the prophecies of the Saints. It is good for every Christian to keep them in mind, but the outcome of events will show if they are indeed a revelation of the Holy Spirit. The old man initially referred to the then-coming economic crisis, saying that: “it will break out in the next few days, it will be artificial, on a global scale, causing the collapse of the financial system.” (As it happened starting in America with the Lehman Brothers.) The 3rd world war will take place in 7 successive phases conflicts and will gradually culminate. Each individual war will be fiercer than the previous one and will involve more and more nations, while there will be intervals of peace. The people whose countries will be at war will run and plead with God, but they will not be heard. The people who will live in non-warring countries will not be exemplified and enlightened by the calamities of their neighbors but will ask for war and destruction to avenge their enemies. The war will eventually spread to a global level; ruins, destruction, hunger, misery, plunder, and disease will prevail everywhere.
1. The first war is between Russia and Georgia (it happened in 2008). Russia will be challenged again by Georgia, and this time Russia will destroy it completely. (Georgia is the Americans’ embankment to delay the Russians so that America and Israel can attack Iran undisturbed. However, Putin declared that by attacking Iran, he is seizing Georgia, which is strategically a critical point). Unfortunately, the civilian casualties in Georgia will be terrible. As long as the Russians are fighting there, the Ukrainians will be incited by the Americans and will create strong provocations against them. Turkey will then allow American ships and aircraft to pass through the straits of the Hellespont and from her national airspace to strike the Russian. Then the countdown for the Turks will begin. The Russians will very soon occupy Ukraine and will be enthusiastically welcomed in the cities. Over Ukraine and the Black Sea, the Americans and Russians will fight for the first time (air battles), and the Russians will prevail overwhelmingly. In Turkey, a dictatorship will have been imposed. The Kurds will rise up, creating a front against the Turks. There will be a global economic upheaval, a stoppage of payments, the collapse of one economy after another, popular uprisings with economic demands, and the refusal of European troops conscription. In one night, thousands of employees will be fired both in America and in Greece. He said the following about the economic crisis in Greece: “It will be good for everyone to take care to save the necessities for his family. The crisis will fluctuate, trying to sow despair and panic.
People will lose their deposits and be fired from their jobs. After an outbreak of crisis, in the first days it will seem that everything is under control. Then they will be hit harder and mercilessly. Loan installments will increase tenfold overnight. People will kill themselves, shops and banks will be looted and set on fire, the economy will collapse, and unprecedented taxes will be imposed, even on domestic animals.” They will tax the hens and the windows. 2. An attack by America and Israel against Iran is imminent. The war for the blessings of Greece will be “caught from below.” (If the war is caught from below, you will suffer a bit. If it is caught from above, you will be destroyed. By Saint Kosmas the Aetolian.) But war will also break out in our neighborhood. Albanians, Croats, Bosnian Muslims, Americans, and a few NATO members, against the Orthodox of Russia and Serbia. In Greece, the government will fall, and we will go to elections. Then exactly the junta that will rule Turkey will attack us, but the Russians will move quickly southwards, rushing to occupy Turkey as quickly as possible, before NATO can reinforce it. Turkey will be hit hard and destroyed completely. The Russians will have previously invaded Georgia, Ukraine, Armenia, and Azerbaijan, pushing back the American troops.
They will also invade the north, conquering all the Scandinavian countries (Finland, Norway, and Sweden), because while they seemingly maintain a neutral position, a great strike against the Russian population will be planned from their lands. The destruction they will suffer will shock humanity. Then the Russians will invade Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania, and Moldova. The people of the Orthodox states of the Balkans (Serbs and Romanians, not the Bulgarians) will rise up and overthrow their corrupt governments, allying themselves with the Russians.
3. Then the Russians will go down south to help their Arab allies, especially the Iranians, who will be attacked by the Americans. The Americans will have captured the coastal zone of Iran after a fierce struggle, but they will not be able to advance inside of the country because of the great resistance they will receive. The Russians will sweep across Persia and destroy the American forces in the East. Then they will invade Iraq, Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, Kuwait, and finally Israel. Then there will be the first attempt to use nuclear weapons by the US and Israel, but the Russians will neutralize them, causing a global blackout of energy and communications (EMP). (The Book of Revelation refers to what was said by Christ himself, about the soldiers of Gog: when they are on the Mount of Olives, the great earthquake will open it in two, and they will be so frightened that they will beat each other. It is the great earthquake that will shake the whole Mediterranean. This may be when King John is revealed in Hagia Sophia at the same time and it will mark the Greek world conquest, without this meaning that there will not be Russian soldiers in Israel and Chinese in the Euphrates.) The Russians will advance to Egypt, and they will seize the Suez Canal. During the advance of the Russians in Egypt, their troops will pass through Greek air and land space quickly, without Greece suffering any damage. This ability to move a large number of troops in a short period of time will result in strategic advantage over their opponents. Then they will turn to the Balkans to help the Serbs, who will be attacked by NATO, Muslim, and Catholic Balkan states, and win.
4. What will burn the Russians, leading them to redeployment of forces, is the betrayal of the Chinese, who will initially be with them. Then, in the face of the greatest exchange ever agreed, the occupation of Siberia, they will withdraw and allow NATO to hit the Russians in the back.
5. The Russians will deploy forces to eastern Thrace and the opposite territories of Asia Minor. The Westerners will land in Albania (3,000,000 troops), and through the Paragnatia road they will move east. However, due to extensive damage to the road network, they will divert the most of the NATO forces to Greece through the Egnatian road.
They will do this on the one hand because the Greek road network will have suffered minor damages, as until then Greece will have remained neutral, and on the other hand because the Russians will choose not to strike an Orthodox and friendly neighboring country. However, the Westerners will hate the Greeks terribly because they did not fight against the Russians and because they will not have suffered such great destruction and losses. (The Virgin Mary will show the protection of Greece, and Christ will subsequent her later great role in the global dominion of Orthodoxy. At this moment, the Greeks are conserving their strength and strengthening the legacies of their faith.) Blessed be the Greeks who will fall into the hands of NATO. Every farmer and shepherd will be asked with ridiculous excuses to answer and questions about whether the City (Constantinople) is far or near, and they will be tortured until death. The villages of the Kampos will be destroyed because they do not have natural cover; only the villages that are at the foot of Mount Olympus and Mount Kissavos will be spared. (Those villages that are close to a road will suffer a lot. The villages of Kampos will suffer a lot, while at the foot of the Kissavos they will sleep as slaves and wake up free. Don’t build big houses; burn the sunflowers so they don’t come in. The rocks and pits will be full of people. - Saint Kosmas the Aetolian.) The military forces from Thessaly and Egnatia will unite outside the City, but the “wage” of the new crusaders will be heavy and devastating in front of the walls of Constantinople. The Russians will prevail, and later they will hand over the city to the Greeks. Where the few remaining inhabitants will suffer little injustice. (Through three narrow passages, namely, Kra, Krapsi, and Mouzina, many armies will advance on their way to Constantinople. They will seek to take you as soldiers, but they will not do so in time. The Greek army will not reach the city; in the middle of the road, they will learn that the war is over. In Constantinople, so much blood will flow that a three-year old calf could swim in it. - Saint Kosmas the Aetolian.)
6. The Elder did not reveal to us any further. Perhaps the nuclear war of the three days will follow the above events as well as the flash of orthodoxy. Saint Charalambis had prophesied that Russia would become a world superpower for 5 and half months, but in the end, it would be defeated by the Americans, who, however, will not find hands to applaud.
In fact, there will be no winner as the earth will turn into a vast cemetery. As the Elder Joseph said, “America will be completely destroyed, and 90% of its citizens will be killed.” (The fall of Babylon, whore of the Book of Revelation.)
7. Regarding Turkey’s attack, Elder Joseph of Vatopedi clarified: “The Turks have planned to occupy some large Greek islands, possibly to exchange them later with Eastern Thrace. At the same time, they will rise up Muslim economic immigrants in our country, whom they will have supplied with military equipment and will follow with acts of sabotage, such as blowing up bridges, roads, arson, destruction of aqueducts, and possibly even contamination of drinking water. (They have already found yaffes with thousands of weapons, and we know from some who provoke by staying in 5-star hotels that we will suffer a violent disruption and overthrow of the legal order.) The Turks will attempt the absolute surprise. They will embark their troops in ships, and they will head to land from Kavala to Athens, while as a distraction they will also attack Cyprus, where fierce battles will be fought and there will be great losses to the army and the civilian population. They will reach a breath from their target, only 6 nautical miles from the shores (the six miles prophesied by Saint Kosmas the Aetolian), but due to the rapid descent of the Russians, they will be forced to withdraw their forces in order to defend their homeland. Then the Greek Cypriot forces will retake the occupied territories. Where, unfortunately, incidents of ethnic cleansing will occur.”
Christ speaks to us, and his lips (prophets) speak of the developments, warn of coming dangers, urge for faith, repentance, and love!!!
Now that we have covered the evolution of the forum post into what is now known as the 7 Phases of World War III, only time will tell whether what was posted on the forum in 2008 will be verified. I think a particular passage from the original post by Dimos on the forum, dated September 6, 2008, at 03:21 PM, is especially important when approaching this text: “Children, be very careful. The elder is a simple man with all the sins of the world upon him, as he himself says. It would be a great disrespect to compare him with Paisios or other elders who clearly had so many spiritual gifts. The detailed military analysis I presented is due to the fact that he himself fought as a reserve second lieutenant in the Korean War, and therefore saw military events with a different eye.”
In the second version, there is a reference to a certain Mr. George: “What some brother had written about a certain Mr. George, who spoke of seven wars, is true.” It remains unclear whether Mr. George was the original source of the information later posted by user Dimos, whether Dimos knew him personally, or whether the name refers to someone else entirely. Another possibility is that user Dimos and Mr. George are the same person. Based on the available information, however, no definitive conclusion can be drawn. If I learn anything further, I will update this article.
Since the attacks on Iran by Israel and the United States in 2025-2026, we can see that some of the detailed military analysis presented on the forum appears to have had a degree of accuracy. Whether the prophetic series itself will be fully verified remains to be seen.
Approximately 80% of the content aligns with the prophecies attributed to various saints and elders, including St. Kosmas the Aetolian, St. Paisios the Athonite, St. George Karslidis, St. Charalambos, Elder Joseph of Vatopedi and others. However, we cannot be certain whether some of the details contained in the forum post originate from actual prophecies or from analytical hypotheses about how events might unfold while keeping those prophecies in mind.
For this reason, the texts should be approached with caution, neither accepted uncritically nor dismissed outright. As events continue to unfold, greater clarity may come, revealing whether these words were indeed inspired by the Holy Spirit.
