St. Kosmas the Aetolian
Nearly 250 years ago, St. Kosmas the Aetolian spoke of wonders that seemed unimaginable in his time, yet today echo with startling relevance. He foresaw a world conquered by soulless machines that would silence humanity. He foretold milk sealed in sacks, forty horses bound to a single stake, a great and terrible war, and men soaring through the skies like blackbirds to rain fire upon the earth.
In this interview, Nikolaos I. Sotiropoulos and Mr. Zerve explore these prophecies, reflecting on their meaning for our age of invention, conflict, and spiritual searching. Their conversation invites us to consider whether St. Kosmas’s visions were not only warnings, but revelations of the Holy Spirit for our own time.
Mr. Zerve: “Well, be well Patos. Tell us something now, so, let’s get into the prophecies, a couple of prophecies and then we’ll say.”
Nikolaos I. Sotiropoulos: “I’d like to mention some of prophecies of St. Kosmas the Aetolian that are particularly striking. Why? Because they refer to amazing scientific inventions of our time. About 250 years ago, St. Kosmas the Aetolian prophesied the amazing achievements of our time. Let me mention, Mr Zerve, and I believe that our dear viewers will listen with particular interest to these prophecies. Two prophecies of a general nature as to the achievements. Things will come out of the schools that the mind of man cannot imagine. The man will lose his mind. He means that from science will come great inventions. There will come a time when the world will be ruled by dumb and ball, meaning the lifeless machines. Well, they don’t rule today. And when the antichrist comes, in such a machine, dumb and ball, he will shut down all of humanity and control it.”
Mr. Zerve: “What is a ball and dumb?”
Nikolaos I. Sotiropoulos: “The soulless machines. These are not ruling today.”
Mr. Zerve: “The robots and computers.”
Nikolaos I. Sotiropoulos: “Well, exactly.”
Mr. Zerve: “And the prophecies that have not yet come to pass.”
Nikolaos I. Sotiropoulos: “Specifically, now let’s get into specific scientific inventions. There will come a time when they will put the milk in the sack. It was such a paradoxical prophecy. As if to say, there will come a time when they will put water in the basket. It is possible for the basket to hold water. The people then were laughing. What do you say, Father Kosmas, the milk in the sack? Well, yes, yes, the milk in the sack. The time has come, the milk becomes powder and then we put it in the sack. Well, there will come a time when they will tie forty horses to a stake. We say today, forty or four wheelers-horse power machines. Forty horses on a stake.”
Mr. Zerve: “He meant the car, that is.”
Nikolaos I. Sotiropoulos: “The vehicle. Forty-horsepower engines, in general. He didn’t prophesy the machine and the name of the machine. Because we express the power of the machine in terms of HP (hypos) in terms of horses, we say. Machines of forty horse power, forty hp. Well, the time will come when you’ll see a carriage without a horse running. A cart without a horse. Paradoxical reason. You will see a car without a horse running and faster than a rabbit. The cars. We call it a car today. Well, the time will come when the world will be tied with a seam, with a wire. The world’s telephone connections etc.. There will come a time when one will speak from the city, Constantinople, and the other will speak from Moscow, Moscow which is experiencing drama those hours with the hostage of so many people. There will come a time when one from the city, Constantinople, and one from Moscow and they will speak and communicate as clearly as if they were in adjoining rooms. Telephone conversations. Could one imagine from Constantinople talking and being heard in Moscow, hundreds of thousands of kilometers away Kolokotronis was even more vocal. He climbed a mountain top, he spoke, his voice could be heard one, two, three kilometers away, and he could terrorize the Turks, but not hundreds of kilometers away. Well, there will come a time when the devil will make rounds with his pumpkin.”
Mr. Zerve: “What was that?”
Nikolaos I. Sotiropoulos: “The mind does not go to the artificial satellites that people brag about and go so far as to deify science? Well, what is an artificial satilites compared to the billions upon billions of billion immense spheres swirling through the vastness. Well, it’s a trivial matter in comparison to the huge celestial spheres, a pumpkin small, fragile and trivial. He’s gonna do laps with his pumpkin. The devil, because mainly for war purposes these things are used, the satellites to spy on one state to another state, one country to another country. Well, there will come a time when people will fly like blackbirds in the air and set the earth on fire. People will be terrified, running to the cemeteries and saying, “You dead people come out and we’ll come in, the living.” It is not an obvious prophecy about the planes and the aerial bombings. People will be flying like blackbirds in the air and shooting fires into the earth and terrorizing the world. Saint Kosmas, also said, two prophecies about this box we have in front of us.”
Mr. Zerve: “For television.”
Nikolaos I. Sotiropoulos: “Television is prophesied in the eleventh chapter of Revelation by the Apostle and Prophet John. If one pays attention, photography, radio and television are prophesied there.”
Mr. Zerve: “How, how?”
Nikolaos I. Sotiropoulos: “It needs attention. Yes, let’s say it. The two prophets who will come to fight the antichrist will be executed and their execution will take place in Jerusalem Square.”
Mr. Zerve: “What was that?”
Nikolaos I. Sotiropoulos: “A prophecy about the time of the Antichrist. Two prophets will come who will enlighten the world about the antichrist, fight the antichrist, perform miracles of punishing wickedness, preaching (controlling) sermons, and after they have fulfilled their mission, they will be arrested by the antichrist, the instruments of the antichrist will arrest them and execute them and their corpse, a corpse is killing according to the scripture, and we say he was killed for his homeland, he was killed, he died. And the dead body in the street of Jerusalem, where their Lord, also, was crucified, and the dead bodies, plural now, the dead bodies at the command of the antichrist shall remain unburied for three and a half days. Until God intervenes, and the corpse and the execution which is an instantaneous event and the corpses exposed for three and a half days shall be seen by people from every tribe, language, and nation, a phrase that is found promised times in Revelation and means from all parts of the world. An instantaneous event, the execution of the prophets will be photographed and shown on television for three and a half days and the corpses lying unburied will be seen by people from all parts of the world for three and a half days and “The people who dwell on the earth will rejoice,” he says. Not just those who are there in Jerusalem the people who dwell on the earth because they will have the feeling that we finally got rid of these troublemakers. God’s people will be greatly hated, they will be considered troublemakers, evildoers, as the Apostles and the prophets were considered in their time.”
Mr. Zerve: “So, this prophecy has been fulfilled.”
Nikolaos I. Sotiropoulos: “That’s why we shouldn’t complain if some react to you and mock you, I swear this is honor, it is not a fault.”
Mr. Zerve: “All right, tell us now. Prophecies that....”
Nikolaos I. Sotiropoulos: “Saint Kosmas told for the television.... A magic box will come out that will drive people crazy, why he called it magic? because it brings magic, charmness, attraction, over, The Greek people, the statistics say, that they watch 4 hours of TV per day and he said another prophecy, more specific, a time will come when the accursed devil will enter the houses. The houses once were churches, home churches. He will enter houses and his horns, the antennas... the horns, the antennas, is the same. The horns will be on the tiles on the roofs.”
Mr. Zerve: “He prophesied about the television.”
Nikolaos I. Sotiropoulos: “Isn’t this amazing amazing prophecy! Prophesied for the liberation of the nation, he said at the third generation will come the desired. Saint Kosmas, said these words, three generations have passed and then just came the desired for the countries, the regions of Northern Greece that were liberated by the victorious Balkan wars in 1912-1914. He said, that when 2 Easters came together then they will be liberated, in 1912 with the old calendar came along with the feast of the Annunciation of the Theotokos, the Easter, then these parts were released.”
Mr. Zerve: “That’s what he meant with the 2 Easters.”
Nikolaos I. Sotiropoulos: “Yes, 2 Easters together, two very glorious feasts are the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary and Easter.”
Mr. Zerve: “Tell us two prophecies or three that have not been verified.”
Nikolaos I. Sotiropoulos: “Let’s say one more that has been verified and which I find particularly striking and then the others. There will come a time when the damned devil will come out of his coffine.”
Mr. Zerve: “What did he mean?”
Nikolaos I. Sotiropoulos: “The devil will become, to use another expression, completely shameless. The devil used to have a certain nobility, within quotation marks the word nobility. He kept some pretense, now he has become impudent, shameless. Here we saw this in the appearance of people and in the works of people. Publicly now evil is presented and is projected by the media, by television and by other media, it is applauded, formalized, legitimized. This is not that the devil came out of which he boasts about. Well, also a prophecy that he said about the Pope. You, you are strongly anti-ecumenist. Well, we, the faithful people are all so , strongly anti-ecumenist. The Pope, he said it as a prophet and he didn’t say it as an opinion, an exaggeration. Well, curse the Pope, it will be the cause of the evil, of some great evil that will appear. He is antichrist.”
Mr. Zerve: “So has the pope the antichrist appeared? Because some say he will appear shortly after the death of the present one. Let’s go somewhere else now.”
Nikolaos I. Sotiropoulos: “The pope will not be the antichrist in the sense of the specific great antichrist. Because the specific great antichrist will come from the Jews. He will be the Messiah of the Jews. The Jews did not accept Jesus as the Messiah, they will accept the antichrist. The pope will ally himself with the antichrist and he too will be the ally of the many antichrists, the forerunners of the antichrist and the partners when the antichrist of the antichrist comes. Now let’s say two prophecies that have not been verified yet. Well, one is unpleasant and one is pleasant.”
Mr. Zerve: “I want to ask you before you go to unpleasant and pleasant. He has said that when they will tax and the eggs and the chickens and the windows. How does he say that. Tell me what he said.”
Nikolaos I. Sotiropoulos: “There’ll come a time when they’ll tax chickens and windows.”
Mr. Zerve: “And then what will happen? He doesn’t say.”
Nikolaos I. Sotiropoulos: “What will happen. The prophecy will come. We’ll bow our heads. As a beast of burden under the yoke of the state. Well, when others steal billions and trillions, the state goes bankrupt and empties the treasuries. What will happen? That’s what will happen!”
Mr. Zerve: “The difference is that state employees are also involved in this story. We continue with Father Kosmas the Aetolian. Others prophecies. Well, the unpleasant and the pleasant that have not come true.”
Nikolaos I. Sotiropoulos: “The unpleasant. The time will come when cities will become like huts. There will be a general war. He means nuclear war. After, which there will be few people left on earth. And one will walk for half an hour, to meet another man, to say good morning and make him a brother.”
Mr. Zerve: “I have to say as a parenthesis. Today that Putin, because we have the well-known story of the hostage, is trying to keep on trying to the one I was telling you at the beginning. He is trying to activate the whole international community and the West by saying that in the area where the hostage is taking place, there are too many nuclear weapons and there is a danger of nuclear ignition. I remembered now that you said that phrase. Let’s hope that it doesn’t happen.”
Nikolaos I. Sotiropoulos: “Mr, Zerve, you who are in the knowledge of politics, I want you to tell me something. Do Americans like or dislike Putin?”
Mr. Zerve: “I think they like him.”
Nikolaos I. Sotiropoulos: “You say so?”
Mr. Zerve: “I say so.”
Nikolaos I. Sotiropoulos: “Οk.”
Mr. Zerve: “Well.”
Nikolaos I. Sotiropoulos: “We come back to this prophecy of St. Kosmas the Aetolian. He agrees with Isaiah. He says that beasts will be opened from heaven and a calamity will fall on the earth. And the earth will burn and there will be few people left on the earth. He prophesies in the 24th chapter of Isaiah, and it is good your viewers read, where it is mentioned to the worst and most destructive war that our planet will ever know. Agrees with Zechariah the prophet, one of the 12 Old Testament prophets. Who prophesies that the last plague, the last and worst blow against humanity will be that the eyes will spill out of the sockets. The tongue will be poured out like water from the mouth and, the flesh will be evaporated when the man’s standing still is at his feet, instantly. Before the man can fall, the eyes will spill out, the tongue will be poured out, the flesh will be evaporated. It’s the consequences of the neutron bomb explosion. The heat wave when it takes over man. These are the characteristics, say the atomic scientists. The eye is spilled, the tongue is spilled out, the flesh is instantly evaporated. These words are written by Zechariah. In the 500th century, B.C. When they fought with stones, with wood, with iron.”
Mr. Zerve: “Ok.”
Nikolaos I. Sotiropoulos: “The Revelation speaks of golden bottles, decanters that will fall from above, all-golden. It is the symbolic allegorical revelation. It’s a symbolic, allegorical revelation. He calls these decanters all gold, because they are very expensive, pure gold, we could say. And each bottle will have the power to destroy 1/3 of the earth. He doesn’t say that where it will fall, will destroy a man who will fall on his head or a small area of land. The 1/3 of the earth! These are not atomic bombs. Let’s say the pleasant one.”
Mr. Zerve: “Yes, let’s say the pleasant one. Let’s go back to Patro-Kosmas.”
Nikolaos I. Sotiropoulos: “Patro-Kosmas. Well, St. Kosmas prophesied and said the problem of the city will be solved. That means, like the Jews, after 2.000 years or so, they took their city Jerusalem. And the Christians, the Greeks will also take the city of their visions.”
Mr. Zerve: “Constantinople.”
Nikolaos I. Sotiropoulos: “Constantinople. There we gather our great desires and our visions. That seems humanly impossible. Today. Well, what is impossible with men is possible with God, and where God wills, the order of nature is defeated! Saint Cosmas the Aetolian also says some other things about this. God makes super physical things. Why did anyone think that the Jews would make a state, after two thousand years? Did anyone think that the Jews would take Jerusalem, from the hands of hundreds of millions of their Muslim enemies and etc. And yet they took their city, and created their nation.”
Mr. Zerve: “We put a full stop.”
Nikolaos I. Sotiropoulos: “Where God wills, the order of nature is defeated, as written!”
