The 7 Phases text is not what many believe it to be. This is why I removed the video from the The Holy Wisdom YouTube channel. In this article, we will examine the original text, along with the two other versions that have circulated within Orthodox prophecy circles, to clarify its origins and correct common misattributions.

When I translated the latest and most well-known version (the third version) of the text back in 2024, I was not aware of the original text and forerunner. Later, during last summer, one of my subscribers contacted me regarding a possible misattribution to Elder Joseph of Vatopedi. This prompted me to research the so-called “7 Phases” text more diligently. I reached out to people within Greek Orthodox prophecy circles and asked about the text.

Even for someone like myself, who spends considerable time researching Orthodox prophecies, I encountered a certain degree of difficulty concerning the origin of the text. I heard many different claims, ranging from the idea that most of the text originated from the prophecies of Elder Joseph of Vatopedi, to references to the so-called Elder Athanasius of Evia, Father Ephraim of the Peloponnese and Mr. George.

I had previously heard of Father Ephraim of the Peloponnese in connection with the The Zero Hour Prophecies Series, a text that remains highly disputed within Greek prophecy circles. At that point, I began to have even more questions.

It was also the first time I had heard the name Elder Athanasius of Evia. I asked myself how it was possible that I had never heard of this elder before, especially since I live in Evia. I asked around locally, but nobody seemed to know of such an elder’s existence. This led me to conclude that the name was likely a fictional character or a pen name.

Later, this suspicion was confirmed when I came into contact with some former members of the now inaccessible forum forum.christian-orthodox.gr. After several discussions with them about the text, they informed me that there had been a member of the forum named Dimos who had written a series of posts back in 2008. Impressed by those posts and the remarkable level of detail they contained, some members had preserved the original writings.

The story begins in September 2008 with a post by Dimos on the Greek Orthodox Forum, a series of posts that would later become known as “The 7 Phases of World War III”

Below, you will find an English translation of the original forum posts, followed by the various versions that have appeared over the years since the original publication.

But this technology is exactly what will destroy us!!!” (He told me that the Russians have such secret weapons that, when they use them, they will destroy entire countries as if they were toys.)

But the “reward” of the new Crusaders will be heavy and disastrous before the walls of Constantinople.

May you have the blessing of our Lord, you who will open your homes.

Your food will seem as if it is running out and it will never run out. Angels of the Lord will reveal to you where you will find food.

Always have with you water from Holy Water (Agiasma). Drop even one drop into cloudy water, say a small prayer, and the water will become drinkable.

The turmoil that the global rulers will feel will lead them to spasmodic actions. (We will experience this in a few days.)

Some of the rulers will not be “cooperative” and blind instruments. A little Christian faith, a little love of homeland, and a little love for their families will stir within them. They will resist. They will fight them. They will be murdered (it will appear as suicide).

Then, a few years later, in 2011, the second version of the texts appeared in a YouTube video titled A Prophecy About the Things That Are Coming. The video went viral, eventually reaching nearly 500,000 views. The text is as follows.

An elderly cleric, who wished to keep his anonymity, said the following to one of his spiritual children regarding those fearful events that are coming. Two of them have already come to pass (the Russia–Georgia war and, as he mentions, the deliberate collapse of the stock markets). With the hope that nothing else will be fulfilled and that this elder was mistaken, I give you his words exactly as his spiritual child wrote them down. I emphasize that this text came into my hands before the economic crisis of October 2008, which it predicts precisely.

'“My child, I am unworthy and sinful to take into my mouth and interpret the words of Saints and Ethnomartyrs. Yet the love of God many times, when it finds signs of repentance, comes and comforts us,” this is how he began, brothers, the words of the now‑retired priest.

The people whose countries will be at war will run and beg God, but they will not be heard. The others, who will live in non‑belligerent countries, will not take example from the misfortunes of their neighbors, but will seek war and destruction in order to take revenge on their enemies. The war will spread on a global scale. Ruins, hunger, misery, revolutions, looting, diseases will prevail.

The first war was the one that took place in Georgia. Russia will receive yet another provocation–attack from Georgia, and this time it will destroy it completely. Unfortunately, the losses of Georgia’s civilian population will be terrifying.

While the Russians are fighting in Georgia, the Ukrainians will also be stirred up by the Americans to make serious provocations against the Russians. Turkey will allow American ships and aircraft to pass through its airspace and the straits in order to strike the Russians.”

From that point begins the countdown for the Turks. The Russians will very quickly subdue the Ukrainians in fact, very few Ukrainians will fight the Russians and they will be received with enthusiasm in the cities. Above Ukraine and the Black Sea, Americans and Russians will fight for the first time, and the Russians will prevail overwhelmingly. In Turkey, a dictatorship will have been imposed, while the Kurds will revolt.

Global economic turmoil

Economies collapse one after another, payments stop, popular uprisings break out with economic demands, and Europeans refuse conscription. A key point confirming the credibility of what I am recounting is this: the conversation with the elder took place in September 2007.

Soon the American–Israeli attack on Iran will occur. The war will begin from below, for the blessing of Greece. But war will also break out in our neighborhood. Albanians, Croats, Bosnian Muslims, Americans, and a little NATO against Serbia–Russia.

In Greece the government will fall and we will go to elections. Exactly then, the junta governing Turkey will attack us. The elder told me, however, that anyone who gives precise dates for when something will happen is deluded, and we should not take it into account.

Something last from the elder, whom I visited today to clarify some things that some brothers asked me:

Afterwards the Russians will move south to help their allies, the Arabs and especially the Iranians, who will be receiving the American attack. The Americans will have occupied the coastal zone of Iran after a furious struggle, but they will not be able to advance into the interior of the country because of the great resistance of the Persians.

The Russians will sweep through all of Persia and destroy the American–NATO forces. Then they will invade Iraq, Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, Kuwait, and finally Israel. At that point an attempt will be made by the USA and Israel to launch the first nuclear weapons, but the Russians will neutralize them. They will cause a worldwide blackout of energy and communications.

Then they will proceed to Egypt and seize the Suez Canal. On their way to the Middle East, the Russians will pass their troops through and over Greece, without the slightest harm to the Greeks.

Their passage will be very fast. This ability of theirs to transport large forces over great distances very quickly will be a major advantage for the Russians and will be due to new, unknown aircraft that will be like flying discs.

After that they will turn to the Balkans to help the Serbs, who will be under attack from NATO‑aligned Muslim and Catholic Balkan states, and they will win.

What will break the Russians and lead them to withdraw their forces will be the betrayal of the Chinese. Although at first they will be with them, later in exchange for the greatest concession ever given in the world, the possession of all Siberia the Chinese will pull out and, worse, will allow the allied forces to strike the Russians from behind.

But we are not finished with the first war. The Russians will fall back to Eastern Thrace and the opposite Asian territories. The Westerners will land in Albania and, through the Para‑Egnatia which, however, will have been largely destroyed will begin moving eastward.

But because they will have great difficulty moving through a destroyed road network bombed roads, blown‑up bridges, and under heavy Russian attacks they will make a cunning decision. They will channel the greater part of their forces into the Egnatia Road of our Greece.

This will happen partly because Greece will be neutral, will not have suffered any destruction, and its road network will be intact; and partly because Greece will be an informal ally of Russia. The Russians would not dare strike a “friendly” and sympathetic country.

And so it will be. However, the allies will hate the Greeks terribly, because they did not fight the Russians, and therefore have no destruction or losses like the allies themselves, whose countries will be ruined and whose loved ones may be dead.

Woe to the Greeks who will fall into their hands. With ridiculous excuses each farmer or shepherd being asked whether the city is near or far they will be tortured to death. They will deviate from their route and rush into large and small cities.

The atrocities of the Crusades will be repeated. Houses will be looted, women of all ages will be raped, people will be murdered, churches will be set on fire, priests will be humiliated, and the evil will be continuous, because as soon as one military unit leaves, the next will arrive.

The only salvation will be flight to the mountains and hiding in the forests. Woe to the elderly, the pregnant women, the small children, and the helpless. But the “wages” of the new crusaders will be heavy and disastrous before the walls of Constantinople.

Because on the Egnatia Road there will be traffic congestion the elder told me the troops will be about three million the NATO forces will send part of them through Thessaly. Terrible destruction will await the inhabitants of the areas through which they will pass.

The villages of the plain will be destroyed completely, as there will be no natural cover. Those who will survive will be the villages at the foothills of Olympus and Kissavos. The forces from Thessaly and from above the Egnatia will join outside Thessaloniki. A new fall will await the city. Atrocities will await the fortunately few remaining inhabitants.

During the brief Greek–Turkish clash, not a single Greek soldier will be killed. There will, however, be injuries. The soldiers will have their fingers on the trigger. There will be gunfire and cannon fire mainly on the islands but these will be spontaneous actions.

I could not understand what kind of war this would be, since not a single Greek would be dead. Divine Protection will shield us, and afterwards the enlightened military leadership, which is already preparing the country’s defensive doctrine according to the coming events.

The Turks have planned from here on, some events will be omitted, others shortened, and others silenced for obvious reasons to seize many large Greek islands.

At the same time, they will stir up economic migrants of the same religion as theirs, with military equipment already located in predetermined places within our country. Acts of sabotage blowing up bridges and roads, arson will be their mission. The security services of our country know everything. The most dangerous sabotage will be against the aqueducts and the drinking water.

From information the Turks will have, they will realize that the operation to seize Greek islands will amount to a tragedy. Then they will attempt the ultimate surprise attack, striking mainland Greece head‑on.

They will load their army onto ships and head for a landing from Kavala all the way to Athens! They will believe that we have placed all our weight on the islands and have left the mainland unguarded. They will come within a breath of their target six nautical miles from the shores. There destruction will strike them.

When the Turks see that they cannot capture the islands of the Aegean, they will attack Cyprus as a diversion.

There fierce battles will take place. There will be heavy losses, both in the army and among the civilian population. Fortunately, the rapid descent of the Russians will force them to withdraw all their forces in order to defend their homeland. Then the Greek‑Cypriot forces will recapture the occupied territories. Unfortunately, events of ethnic cleansing will occur.

Some of the young people asked what will happen to America. Unfortunately, total destruction. Of the three hundred million it has now, 90% will lose their lives from every cause resulting from the war. Naturally, I do not remember the events after so long. When I visited the elder, I wrote them down on paper and asked other spiritual children of his as well.

A great Saint of our time and a great patriot, shortly before he fell asleep in the Lord, wrote three letters. With the blessing that they be given to three high officials. Indeed, for several months everything was turned upside down. Eventually he accepted what was written and acted accordingly less, never more according to the instructions he read.

The military leader wept when he read the letter. He remembered the words that Saint had told him many years earlier. Immediately he adjusted the country’s military doctrine, secretly and quietly, to face the impending threat.

The amusing part of the story was when the military leader urgently asked to see the governor to inform him. The governor showed him his own letter and said: “Did you come for this, perhaps?”

The third letter was sent to the governor of the largest Orthodox country. Unfortunately, it did not receive the same seriousness. The governor was informed vaguely about its contents; he never read the letter himself. Because then and now dozens of letters are sent to the leader of that country almost all of them products of delusion they considered the letter of our Saint to be of little importance. That will be their punishment.

The global crisis has begun. It will fluctuate. They are trying to sow despair and panic among humanity. How many of our fellow citizens will want to listen to spiritual counsel from spiritual fathers when they lose their deposits and savings? When they are fired from their jobs? When their loan installments increase tenfold overnight?

After a surge of the crisis, in the first days afterwards it will appear that everything is under control. Exactly then they will strike again, harder and more mercilessly. People will commit suicide in their homes and workplaces. Shops and banks will be set on fire and looted. The economy will collapse. Unprecedented taxes will be imposed. You will even have to pay tax for pets.

However, the coming war will overturn everything. Money, gold, precious stones the elder said we should not worry about protecting them. Let everything be lost. They are not going to save us.

“Do not be afraid nor lose heart,” said the elder, “when the events begin. Our Lord, with His Most Holy Mother and all the Saints, have joined hands and encircled our Greece.

Every hostile action against us will collapse. Whoever has a spiritual father should consult only him. Whoever does not have a spiritual father but believes in the Lord in those days the Hierarchy of Greece, in emergency sessions, will issue saving and soul‑beneficial announcements.

As soon as the first storm passes, let each person provide what is necessary. According to the members of his family, let the essentials be available. You who have had the blessing to learn of the coming calamities but also of the resurrection of our nation,” said the elder to his spiritual children, “have a sacred duty to help every Christian who knocks on your door.

You will give even from your lack, not from your surplus. Cursed be the one who refuses to take in a Christian. The one who thinks only of his own children and leaves the foreign little ones to die for such events he described to us.

The hand that will knock on your door will not only be the hand of the hungry, but also of the Angel, who will test you by the command of our Lord.

Cursed be the one who asks for money to host the persecuted, who dishonors women. May you have the blessing of our Lord, you who will open your homes.

Your food will seem to be running out and will never run out. Angels of the Lord will reveal to you where you will find nourishment. Always have with you water from holy water. Even one drop to pour into murky water, and to say a small prayer, and the water will become drinkable.”

Now we arrive at the third version, and probably the most well-known version, which appeared on the Anargyros61 Blogspot in 2020 under the title The Reading of Prophecies. This version surfaced more than a decade after the original forum posts and is the version that became most widely circulated in Orthodox prophecy circles.

3THE READING OF PROPHECIES (JOSEPH OF VATOPEDI)

The late Elder Joseph of Vatopedi foretold as early as 2007 the war-related events that would shake humanity.

“The war will eventually spread gradually on a global scale. Ruins, destruction, hunger, misery, plunder, and disease will prevail everywhere.”

This text was published on January 6, 2009, by the Holy Abbot Gabriel Tsitas of the monastery of Saint Mark in Chios built under Saint Parthenios of Chios, and it is the original. The prophecies that are revealed to the Saints of our church under the Holy Spirit emanate and therefore are full of truth and will be accurately verified. The Fathers point out that although the future is revealed prophetically so that the faithful can be spiritually awakened and recognize the signs of the times, it is not possible to fully interpret them, only after their realization. To many Saints, God revealed the secret mysteries of the future, to the extent that he himself willed and allowed them to be recorded, only what he allowed, usually in an allegorical way, so that they could be understood by those who are fasting, in communion with God, and worthy of salvation. This is particularly characteristic in the case of the prophecies concerning the end times and even more so in the Book of the Revelation of the evangelist John. The Saints have partially interpreted this prophetic book, as the Lord wanted to keep it a secret from many, until today.

Thus, we are mainly talking about approaching the prophets and not about their complete interpretation. The more humanity marches towards the antichrist and his seal, the more the content of the prophecies will be understood. We quote the words of a contemporary Elder, spoken in September 2007 by Father Joseph of Vatopedi. They are of particular interest and seem to be a contemporary revelation of God, as they are closely in line with the prophecies of the Saints. It is good for every Christian to keep them in mind, but the outcome of events will show if they are indeed a revelation of the Holy Spirit. The old man initially referred to the then-coming economic crisis, saying that: “it will break out in the next few days, it will be artificial, on a global scale, causing the collapse of the financial system.” (As it happened starting in America with the Lehman Brothers.) The 3rd world war will take place in 7 successive phases conflicts and will gradually culminate. Each individual war will be fiercer than the previous one and will involve more and more nations, while there will be intervals of peace. The people whose countries will be at war will run and plead with God, but they will not be heard. The people who will live in non-warring countries will not be exemplified and enlightened by the calamities of their neighbors but will ask for war and destruction to avenge their enemies. The war will eventually spread to a global level; ruins, destruction, hunger, misery, plunder, and disease will prevail everywhere.

1. The first war is between Russia and Georgia (it happened in 2008). Russia will be challenged again by Georgia, and this time Russia will destroy it completely. (Georgia is the Americans’ embankment to delay the Russians so that America and Israel can attack Iran undisturbed. However, Putin declared that by attacking Iran, he is seizing Georgia, which is strategically a critical point). Unfortunately, the civilian casualties in Georgia will be terrible. As long as the Russians are fighting there, the Ukrainians will be incited by the Americans and will create strong provocations against them. Turkey will then allow American ships and aircraft to pass through the straits of the Hellespont and from her national airspace to strike the Russian. Then the countdown for the Turks will begin. The Russians will very soon occupy Ukraine and will be enthusiastically welcomed in the cities. Over Ukraine and the Black Sea, the Americans and Russians will fight for the first time (air battles), and the Russians will prevail overwhelmingly. In Turkey, a dictatorship will have been imposed. The Kurds will rise up, creating a front against the Turks. There will be a global economic upheaval, a stoppage of payments, the collapse of one economy after another, popular uprisings with economic demands, and the refusal of European troops conscription. In one night, thousands of employees will be fired both in America and in Greece. He said the following about the economic crisis in Greece: “It will be good for everyone to take care to save the necessities for his family. The crisis will fluctuate, trying to sow despair and panic.

People will lose their deposits and be fired from their jobs. After an outbreak of crisis, in the first days it will seem that everything is under control. Then they will be hit harder and mercilessly. Loan installments will increase tenfold overnight. People will kill themselves, shops and banks will be looted and set on fire, the economy will collapse, and unprecedented taxes will be imposed, even on domestic animals.” They will tax the hens and the windows. 2. An attack by America and Israel against Iran is imminent. The war for the blessings of Greece will be “caught from below.” (If the war is caught from below, you will suffer a bit. If it is caught from above, you will be destroyed. By Saint Kosmas the Aetolian.) But war will also break out in our neighborhood. Albanians, Croats, Bosnian Muslims, Americans, and a few NATO members, against the Orthodox of Russia and Serbia. In Greece, the government will fall, and we will go to elections. Then exactly the junta that will rule Turkey will attack us, but the Russians will move quickly southwards, rushing to occupy Turkey as quickly as possible, before NATO can reinforce it. Turkey will be hit hard and destroyed completely. The Russians will have previously invaded Georgia, Ukraine, Armenia, and Azerbaijan, pushing back the American troops.

They will also invade the north, conquering all the Scandinavian countries (Finland, Norway, and Sweden), because while they seemingly maintain a neutral position, a great strike against the Russian population will be planned from their lands. The destruction they will suffer will shock humanity. Then the Russians will invade Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania, and Moldova. The people of the Orthodox states of the Balkans (Serbs and Romanians, not the Bulgarians) will rise up and overthrow their corrupt governments, allying themselves with the Russians.

3. Then the Russians will go down south to help their Arab allies, especially the Iranians, who will be attacked by the Americans. The Americans will have captured the coastal zone of Iran after a fierce struggle, but they will not be able to advance inside of the country because of the great resistance they will receive. The Russians will sweep across Persia and destroy the American forces in the East. Then they will invade Iraq, Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, Kuwait, and finally Israel. Then there will be the first attempt to use nuclear weapons by the US and Israel, but the Russians will neutralize them, causing a global blackout of energy and communications (EMP). (The Book of Revelation refers to what was said by Christ himself, about the soldiers of Gog: when they are on the Mount of Olives, the great earthquake will open it in two, and they will be so frightened that they will beat each other. It is the great earthquake that will shake the whole Mediterranean. This may be when King John is revealed in Hagia Sophia at the same time and it will mark the Greek world conquest, without this meaning that there will not be Russian soldiers in Israel and Chinese in the Euphrates.) The Russians will advance to Egypt, and they will seize the Suez Canal. During the advance of the Russians in Egypt, their troops will pass through Greek air and land space quickly, without Greece suffering any damage. This ability to move a large number of troops in a short period of time will result in strategic advantage over their opponents. Then they will turn to the Balkans to help the Serbs, who will be attacked by NATO, Muslim, and Catholic Balkan states, and win.

4. What will burn the Russians, leading them to redeployment of forces, is the betrayal of the Chinese, who will initially be with them. Then, in the face of the greatest exchange ever agreed, the occupation of Siberia, they will withdraw and allow NATO to hit the Russians in the back.

5. The Russians will deploy forces to eastern Thrace and the opposite territories of Asia Minor. The Westerners will land in Albania (3,000,000 troops), and through the Paragnatia road they will move east. However, due to extensive damage to the road network, they will divert the most of the NATO forces to Greece through the Egnatian road.

They will do this on the one hand because the Greek road network will have suffered minor damages, as until then Greece will have remained neutral, and on the other hand because the Russians will choose not to strike an Orthodox and friendly neighboring country. However, the Westerners will hate the Greeks terribly because they did not fight against the Russians and because they will not have suffered such great destruction and losses. (The Virgin Mary will show the protection of Greece, and Christ will subsequent her later great role in the global dominion of Orthodoxy. At this moment, the Greeks are conserving their strength and strengthening the legacies of their faith.) Blessed be the Greeks who will fall into the hands of NATO. Every farmer and shepherd will be asked with ridiculous excuses to answer and questions about whether the City (Constantinople) is far or near, and they will be tortured until death. (They will ask you if the City is far. Don’t tell the truth, because they will abuse you. - Saint Kosmas the Aetolian.) The army will deviate from their course and attack small and large towns. The shame of the papal crusaders will be repeated. Houses will be looted, women of any age will be raped, innocent citizens will be murdered, churches will be set on fire, and the evil will continue because the military units will succeed one another. The only salvation will be to flee to the forests and mountains. A part of NATO soldiers will be channeled through Thessaly. A terrible disaster will await the inhabitants of the surrounding areas.

The villages of the Kampos will be destroyed because they do not have natural cover; only the villages that are at the foot of Mount Olympus and Mount Kissavos will be spared. (Those villages that are close to a road will suffer a lot. The villages of Kampos will suffer a lot, while at the foot of the Kissavos they will sleep as slaves and wake up free. Don’t build big houses; burn the sunflowers so they don’t come in. The rocks and pits will be full of people. - Saint Kosmas the Aetolian.) The military forces from Thessaly and Egnatia will unite outside the City, but the “wage” of the new crusaders will be heavy and devastating in front of the walls of Constantinople. The Russians will prevail, and later they will hand over the city to the Greeks. Where the few remaining inhabitants will suffer little injustice. (Through three narrow passages, namely, Kra, Krapsi, and Mouzina, many armies will advance on their way to Constantinople. They will seek to take you as soldiers, but they will not do so in time. The Greek army will not reach the city; in the middle of the road, they will learn that the war is over. In Constantinople, so much blood will flow that a three-year old calf could swim in it. - Saint Kosmas the Aetolian.)

6. The Elder did not reveal to us any further. Perhaps the nuclear war of the three days will follow the above events as well as the flash of orthodoxy. Saint Charalambis had prophesied that Russia would become a world superpower for 5 and half months, but in the end, it would be defeated by the Americans, who, however, will not find hands to applaud.

In fact, there will be no winner as the earth will turn into a vast cemetery. As the Elder Joseph said, “America will be completely destroyed, and 90% of its citizens will be killed.” (The fall of Babylon, whore of the Book of Revelation.)

7. Regarding Turkey’s attack, Elder Joseph of Vatopedi clarified: “The Turks have planned to occupy some large Greek islands, possibly to exchange them later with Eastern Thrace. At the same time, they will rise up Muslim economic immigrants in our country, whom they will have supplied with military equipment and will follow with acts of sabotage, such as blowing up bridges, roads, arson, destruction of aqueducts, and possibly even contamination of drinking water. (They have already found yaffes with thousands of weapons, and we know from some who provoke by staying in 5-star hotels that we will suffer a violent disruption and overthrow of the legal order.) The Turks will attempt the absolute surprise. They will embark their troops in ships, and they will head to land from Kavala to Athens, while as a distraction they will also attack Cyprus, where fierce battles will be fought and there will be great losses to the army and the civilian population. They will reach a breath from their target, only 6 nautical miles from the shores (the six miles prophesied by Saint Kosmas the Aetolian), but due to the rapid descent of the Russians, they will be forced to withdraw their forces in order to defend their homeland. Then the Greek Cypriot forces will retake the occupied territories. Where, unfortunately, incidents of ethnic cleansing will occur.”

Christ speaks to us, and his lips (prophets) speak of the developments, warn of coming dangers, urge for faith, repentance, and love!!!

Now that we have covered the evolution of the forum post into what is now known as the 7 Phases of World War III, only time will tell whether what was posted on the forum in 2008 will be verified. I think a particular passage from the original post by Dimos on the forum, dated September 6, 2008, at 03:21 PM, is especially important when approaching this text: “Children, be very careful. The elder is a simple man with all the sins of the world upon him, as he himself says. It would be a great disrespect to compare him with Paisios or other elders who clearly had so many spiritual gifts. The detailed military analysis I presented is due to the fact that he himself fought as a reserve second lieutenant in the Korean War, and therefore saw military events with a different eye.”

In the second version, there is a reference to a certain Mr. George: “What some brother had written about a certain Mr. George, who spoke of seven wars, is true.” It remains unclear whether Mr. George was the original source of the information later posted by user Dimos, whether Dimos knew him personally, or whether the name refers to someone else entirely. Another possibility is that user Dimos and Mr. George are the same person. Based on the available information, however, no definitive conclusion can be drawn. If I learn anything further, I will update this article.

Since the attacks on Iran by Israel and the United States in 2025-2026, we can see that some of the detailed military analysis presented on the forum appears to have had a degree of accuracy. Whether the prophetic series itself will be fully verified remains to be seen.

Approximately 80% of the content aligns with the prophecies attributed to various saints and elders, including St. Kosmas the Aetolian, St. Paisios the Athonite, St. George Karslidis, St. Charalambos, Elder Joseph of Vatopedi and others. However, we cannot be certain whether some of the details contained in the forum post originate from actual prophecies or from analytical hypotheses about how events might unfold while keeping those prophecies in mind.

For this reason, the texts should be approached with caution, neither accepted uncritically nor dismissed outright. As events continue to unfold, greater clarity may come, revealing whether these words were indeed inspired by the Holy Spirit.

For those who wish to preserve them, let them keep these words in mind until time itself either rejects them or confirms them. God bless.

The handwritten messages attributed to the Elder began in 2010 and continue to this day. For clear and respectful reasons, the Elder’s name remains undisclosed. These messages are regarded as Heavenly in origin, and the Elder himself is profoundly humble, avoiding any form of spotlight.

2013 – The Elder said:“The agreement that two major powers (Germany and Turkey) will forge aimed at striking a small and weak country (Greece) and blocking the way before them (by closing the Dardanelles to Russia) is like sealing dynamite inside a barrel of gunpowder. Then will come the great explosions I warned you about. And out of that upheaval, the Russians will appear from where no one expects, though not yet by their own direct hand.”

2014 – A message delivered through the Elder: “One year you will have a black Christmas. After Christmas you will receive the blow (Turkish attack on Greece) from behind when you carry Me on your back (the Epitaphios), and then you will rise together with Me.”

February 6, 2014 – The Elder stated: “At this very moment, the greatest betrayal of the Greeks is being prepared. This betrayal is equivalent to the betrayal of Constantinople, and not only that. It will not be a simple betrayal, but one that concerns the division of Greece into two states. By this I mean: a Turkish–Thracian Cypriot mini state, a Greater Macedonia, and an Athenian Greek state. This is their plan, with Thessaloniki as the capital of Macedonia. They will attempt to carry this out; it will be the great change of borders. But what borders, my children, are you speaking of? They acknowledge no borders other than those of the land blessed by Christ (Greece). You will hear it, and you will see it before you soon. When they place their signatures for the partition, together with all that you see now (the destruction), the Lord will change their borders, since they desire it so greatly. My children, always remain beside our Christ. Walk with the Lord and celebrate in the great city that once fell; and not only that, but my children celebrations will also take place after the destruction in the other city that falls: Cyprus. My children, I have only one thing to tell you: Our Lord and God will not abandon you. Until now, everything I told you, you have seen. They are trying to carry out the great plan for the fall of the last stronghold of faith. But Christ and God the Father will swiftly bring about the plan of the resurrection of this blessed land. Woe and alas, where will they hide…”

September 15, 2014 – The Elder warned: “My children, first you will carry betrayal upon your backs (a national betrayal). After this, you will pass through the great trial (hunger). You will hunger both physically and spiritually.”

October 2019 – The Elder declared: “A massive and unprecedented missile attack by Russia on Turkey will begin. The Sea of Marmara and the Mediterranean will fill with corpses and a great global economic catastrophe will follow.”

October 1, 2019 – The Elder added: “On its way toward Turkey, Russia will give NATO a ‘bite’ from air, sea, and land in the Black Sea and beyond…”

June 14, 2020 – The Elder stated: “The Turks will find themselves between Libya and Crete; they may strike both areas. Egypt will also become involved in Libya. They may strike Crete, from the south. If this happens, three fronts will open: 1) Libya, 2) Crete, 3) the Kurds. This will lead Turkey to its end and the Turks will be forced to withdraw their forces from occupied Cyprus.”

March 13, 2021 – The Elder explained: “We will face a triple strike, three wars or conflicts: 1) Ukraine, 2) Iran, 3) Syria–Kurds. In the midst of these three conflicts, the Turkish strike on Greece may occur. After the Turkish strike on Greece, Turkish occupied Cyprus will be liberated. The Turks will be forced to withdraw their troops from Cyprus to close some of the many fronts they have opened. We will witness intense confrontations among seven countries in the Eastern Mediterranean. A great ignition will take place. The Russian bear, angered by Turkey’s actions in the conflict with Ukraine, will move toward Turkey to take revenge advancing like a force of nature and overwhelming everything in its path. Russia will take Constantinople, but first a major earthquake will strike the region…”

June 29, 2021 – The Elder proclaimed: “Archangel Michael will bring great turmoil and will set all things in order; he will act according to the Law of God. When the Archangel takes charge, everything is finished. In Greece, the law of God will be set into motion through Archangel Michael.”

2022 – The Elder urged: “The hours have arrived. Repentance, repentance, repentance. Pray. In your homes keep Holy Water and Paschal candles and pray without ceasing. Have love among yourselves and for the whole world. Pray even for your enemies. Soon, Erdogan will depart; he will fall and leave with deep wounds in his soul…”

February 18, 2022 – The Elder warned: “Besides Ukraine, we must watch Poland, the Middle East, the Eastern Mediterranean, the Black Sea, and two small states. After Ukraine and Poland, Russia will move south from the Caspian and from the Black Sea toward the Middle East and the Eastern Mediterranean. And China, from Jordan, will move to support Iran, Iraq, Syria, and the Kurds, and will also strike Turkey from its southern borders to open the path for the Russian descent.”

February 18, 2022 – Another message from the Elder: “NATO will ‘move’ against Russia, but then China will be activated, and a new front will open in the Middle East. Before China begins, there will be small disturbances in the region of Serbia, meant to keep Russia occupied.”

March 14, 2022 – The Elder concluded: “The war is leaving Ukraine and shifting to the Middle East. Four countries of the region will be involved one of them will be? March 22, 2022 – The Elder’s message: “After Ukraine, Russia will move south from the Caspian and from the Black Sea toward the Eastern Mediterranean and the Middle East… China, from Jordan, will move to support Iran, Iraq, Syria, and the Kurds, and will also pressure Turkey from its southern borders to open the path for the Russian advance. April 12, 2022 – The Elder continued: “The great powers, together with European countries, will attempt to trap Russia in the Black Sea by having Turkey close the straits, essentially confining the Russian warships, just as Poland, Estonia, Lithuania, and Ukraine closed their borders with Russia. All of this aims at Russia’s entrapment. Seeing that they cannot move south because the Turks have closed the straits, the Russians will use three corridors to reach Constantinople, with the Chinese acting, as we said, as Russia’s ‘hands.’”

April 18, 2022 – The Elder elaborated: “The Russians will use three corridors to reach Constantinople. The first corridor for Russia to move south will be through Serbia, with help from China. As the Russians advance, they will pass through the borders of Albania with Montenegro and Kosovo, through the region of Shkodra, and continue south via the ‘seventh corridor,’ as the Albanians called it during Hoxha’s time (possibly the Blue Corridor), which connects to the Egnatian highway and will also pass through…. The second corridor will likely be from the Caspian Sea, which borders Iran. The Russians will move south and unite with the Chinese. The Chinese will advance behind the backs of the European countries and Turkey, supporting Russia.”

May 16, 2022 – The Elder warned: “Everything will begin slowly, and events will start moving toward Europe and the Balkans. My children, be ready, for all the difficult things will begin. February 28, 2023 – The Elder described the coming political crisis: “My children, the elections that will take place here in Greece will not be held on two Sundays, but possibly on three. On the first Sunday they will not be able to achieve what they want. On the second Sunday they will again face problems. Then they will proceed to a third Sunday, arguing among themselves about who will take charge. Then, in haste, they will form a government which they will call ‘a government of national salvation,’ which will not last more than 15 to 30 days. Greece will be in complete ungovernability before tempers ignite from the other side, before the Turks strike. A constitutional disorder will occur inside Greece; all the foreigners will rise and cause destruction, killings in the streets, and stabbings. After this, the army will take over. After Turkey’s decision concerning Hagia Sophia, the Elder spoke again with even greater urgency: “My children, after Turkey’s decision concerning Hagia Sophia, you will live through world-shaking events. Now the Turks will taste the great earthquake. The sea of Marmara and half of Constantinople will sink.

You will see this, my children. The hour is coming. On one hand I grieve, yet on the other I rejoice, for the end of Turkey is near. I grieve for its people; they will not have time to gather the dead. At the very moment Erdogan signed, the Virgin Mary signed before her Son for the rendering of justice. For the first time in world history, the Virgin will place her signature and tell her Son to bring justice, and He will not pity them. The Sea of Marmara will be filled with collapsed buildings, with ships that will sink, with corpses floating, even the fish will flee. The hour has come. The Turks have signed their own death. Erdogan is the destruction of Turkey. Turkey will pay a terrible blood price, the blood of Saints, Elders, Priests, and innocent people for its war against God. The time has come for Hagia Sophia and for Constantinople. Christ will no longer hold back. Woe to them, there is no longer mercy. You will see a terrible pandemic in Turkey. In 2012, the Elder spoke about Germany: “Something involving nuclear matters will happen in Germany, either a nuclear plant accident or a nuclear attack. Germany will suffer a great calamity.”

December 31, 2021, delivered one of the most dramatic prophecies: “A great blow is coming, my children. It will appear to be natural, but it will be from a human hand, and great harm will be done across the whole world. Expect terrifying events, events that have never occurred since the creation of the world. Even the fish will come out onto the land and remain with their mouths open at what will happen to humanity. By October 2022, the Elder’s warnings expanded to the entire planet: “The whole Earth will tremble. There will be earthquakes, partial submersions, and many other natural disasters. It will be a chaotic situation. The Earth will sink; trees will fall and disappear; the Earth will swallow them… Holy Mary, help us!”

On October 12, 2022, he added: “The war will shift from the North to the South, and in this way the planet will be saved from total destruction… because this is what God wants, that the world not be destroyed.”

November 29, 2022, brought a warning for the Baltic region: “They want to ‘close’ this war toward the north, toward that frozen region and the frozen region is the Baltic countries. Saint Arsenius of Cappadocia, in his ministry as a priest, was often called upon to pray for a wide range of human needs and difficulties.Because the prayers contained in the Euchologion did not cover every circumstance, he also drew upon the Psalter, assigning a specific psalm to each particular situation as a prayerful remedy.

Elder Paisios followed the same practice, reading the entire Psalter daily and making use of its psalms for specific needs. In this appendix, we present the guidance of Saint Arsenius of Cappadocia as recorded by Elder Paisios, explaining the circumstances for which each psalm is recommended.

This text was written by Elder Paisios himself.

Psalm 1: When a tree or a vine is planted, so that it may bring forth fruit.

Psalm 2: So that God illumines those who go to meetings and councils.

Psalm 3: So that badness goes away from people, so that they do not torment unjustly their fellows.

Psalm 4: So that God heals the sensitive people who fell ill from depression because of the behaviour of hard-hearted people.

Psalm 5: So that God heals the wounded eyes that were bitten by a bad person.

Psalm 6: So that God frees the person who has been under a spell.

Psalm 7: For those who got damaged from fear, from the terrors and the intimidations of bad people.

Psalm 8: For those who have been harmed by demons or by deceitful people.

Psalm 33: For those in the throes of death, when tormented by demons at the hour of death, or for enemy armies when they threaten to cross borders to cause harm.

Psalm 34: That God may deliver kind-hearted people from the snares of deceitful men who mock God’s people.

Psalm 35: To completely erase enmity following disputes or misunderstandings.

Psalm 36: For people deeply wounded by the crimes of evildoers.

Psalm 60: For those who find work burdensome, either due to laziness or fear.

Psalm 61: That God may relieve the weak-spirited person from trials, one who lacks patience and complains.

Psalm 62: For the fields and trees to bear fruit when there is a lack of water.

Psalm 63: When a person is bitten by a wolf or a rabid dog. (The Saint would also give them blessed water to drink.)

Psalm 64: That merchants may receive blessings, so they do not deceive and wrong the simple people.

Psalm 65: That the cunning one may not bring misfortunes into homes and sadden families.

Psalm 66: That birds (bird farms) may be blessed.

Psalm 67: That mothers who struggle (suffer) in childbirth, especially when they experience complications, may be relieved.

Psalm 68: When disasters occur, and rivers overflow, sweeping away homes and people.

Psalm 69: For sensitive individuals who get saddened by the slightest thing and become despondent, that God may strengthen them.

Psalm 70: For the forsaken people who become burdened due to the envy of the devil and fall into despair, that they may find help and protection from God.

Psalm 71: That God may bless the new harvest that peasants have brought into their homes.

In this reflective message, Elder George revisits the prophetic words of Saint Paisios and Saint Porphyrios, emphasizing that everything spoken by the Saints and by Christ Himself will come to pass with divine precision. Drawing from spiritual insight and current geopolitical tensions, Elder George warns of the signs of approaching conflict, particularly in the Aegean region, and urges believers to turn to the intercessions of the Theotokos.

“I want to repeat something I said at the beginning. Saint Paisios once said and everything he said, everything the saints have said will come true with precision. Everything Christ said, everything Saint Porphyrios said what did not happen.

And I will say again about the Porphyrios what he said and that didn’t happen. Everything happened.

And I will mention something about the fishes, he called me a fisherman. But I will also share something very serious that Saint Paisios said.

From the beginning, he warned: when you hear intense discussions on television and in the media about the Aegean, about territorial waters 6 miles, 12 miles, and so on know that war is near. And when you see the Turkish embassy leaves Greece, begin to pray the intercessions of the Theotokos: ‘By the embassies of the Theotokos, Savior, save us.’

You have a relationship with the embassies. There are two kinds of intercessions: those of the Theotokos, and those of state ambassadors. What do ambassadors do? They serve the interests of their country.

An ambassador is someone who represents their nation in another country to handle affairs.

And what does the Virgin Mary do? She intercedes, she handles the affairs of all who believe in Christ, asking Him to solve their problems.

And what did Christ say to the Virgin Mary? ‘Only requests you bring me.’ I haven’t seen anything from anyone else. Everytime you tell me, ‘Do this, do that.’

You have never told me that someone did something truly good, something meaningful on this earth. They are unacceptable, really.

We have already learned them. If you want to learn, learn some new things like that. Those new things can be learned too. And that’s true. And no one needs to tell me that. You come here empty-handed, invoking the Virgin Mary.

What are some of our people doing over there? They do nothing.

And lately they have heard that the American ambassador are supposed to come, and now they are coming for one month; next month they will come, the month after that they will come, and the one after that. And everything keeps changing with rumors, and the deadlines keep shifting.

Some people say that certain American ambassadors haven’t yet arrived in the countries they were appointed to, even though they should have by now. How long has the they have been in Turkey already? Why are they in Turkey for so long, and why haven’t they shown any signs of coming here (Greece)?

What’s happening here? Something’s happening. We have to… The pains and knowledge. The man of God concerns himself with everything.

Wait for Mitsotakis what will happen. He says that everything is going well, and we are going crap. Sorry to say it like that.

Excerpt from the “Book of Prophecies” concerning Cyprus, written by Andreas Savvidis in 1970–72. He authored around 70 books and hundreds of scientific studies, was a member of EOKA in 1955, a police instructor, criminologist, and writer. George met Mr. Andreas at the home of a priest George knew.

Mr. Andreas states that while he was at home alone in 1970, he suddenly saw (as he says) a kind, venerable Elder with a beard white as snow.

The Elder told him: “Everything that will be revealed to you is what has already been written to happen. No one can change the flow or the timing of the events that will follow, except the Creator.”

The numbers 2, 7, and 13 are the key numbers of the wounds that will follow. On the day 13+2 of the 7th month, 13 × 2 years before the end of the 20th century, a coup will take place (Cyprus).

Note: 13+2 = 15 (the fifteenth day) 13 × 2 years before the end of the 20th century = 1974 Thus: 15/7/1974 = Coup.

On the day 13+7 of the same month, and 7 × 2 of the following month of the same year, an invasion by the unbelievers will follow.

Note: 13+7 = 20 (twentieth day) = 20/7/1974 first invasion 7 × 2 = 14 (fourteenth day) of the next month = 14/8/1974 second invasion.

Along the Green Line, barbed wire will divide Cyprus into north and south (remember, all this was said in 1970).

Was It Really Archangel Michael? A testimony that shook public sentiment during the early stages of the global events has resurfaced, perhaps more relevant now than ever.

In July 2020, at the onset of the worldwide upheaval (Covid), a woman named Vasiliki experienced something extraordinary. So moved by the event, she emailed her account to Doctor Konstandinos Vardakas, a well-known figure in the Greek Orthodox community and considered by many to be a “Chosen One” of Saint Paisios. Doctor Vardakas then uploaded her testimony to his website with a measured disclaimer: “I upload this with reservations; whoever wishes to accept it may do so.”

I say the same to you.

The testimony gained wide attention in Greece, circulating over 18,000 times. And if you’re reading this now, there’s a chance you’ve heard about it before, though for readers beyond Greece, it could be your first encounter with it.

What makes the testimony so compelling isn’t just its spiritual undertones; it’s the timing. The testimony references mid-2027 as a significant moment. That date, surprisingly, resonates far beyond Greece and has been flagged by geopolitical analysts as a potential inflection point, a time when strategic decisions meet real-world consequences, and global balances could dramatically shift. In fact, Saint Paisios referred to a coming “Great Shaking” that would lead many to return to Christ.

At the heart of the testimony lies the majestic Archangel Michael and his revered church on the island of Symi, Greece. For centuries, faithful believers have practiced a unique custom: if unable to visit the island in person, they send a wish in a bottle, believing the Archangel will receive it, read it, and deliver it to the Lord. Now we start with the testimony. It was July 22, 2020, Wednesday, Feast Day of Saint Magdalene and Saint Marcella:

“Since I had been working for 15 days straight, the kids were complaining and wanted to go swimming...Even though it was Wednesday, we did them a favor. We prepared some fasting food to take with us.

However, for 2 years I had promised to send a vow (with the bottle) to Archangel Michael in Symi, and I always neglected to do so (not intentionally).

I had it on top of the TV with a tribute to Symi. That day I told my sister; we won’t leave unless we prepare the bottle to send to the Archangel in Symi. And so, we did... We wrote our names, put incense, charcoal, and a small gift for the church (a little money) in it.

I told the kids that we would stay until late to leave it in the sea when everyone had left so as not to provoke any comments.

We left at 1:00 p.m. and arrived at around 2:20 p.m. That’s how long it takes to get from Ioannina to Igoumenitsa in an old car. I don’t usually drive fast...

At the Igoumenitsa intersection, my nephew says, “Auntie, do you think the bottle will reach Symi?”

Without thinking, I say, “Who knows, Giorgakis, maybe the Archangel himself will come to get it...”

“Tell your son that you spoke with me (a dark-haired boy) and tell him to repent because in 7 years from today, the Archangel Michael will come and stab his fiery sword over there (he pointed towards the center of Igoumenitsa), and then everything you have experienced during these seven years will come to an end. After that, you will live for many, many years in Christ...”

When he said these things (that’s exactly how he said them, I’ll never forget them), he looked up at the sky and it was as if he was saying, I don’t know how to describe it, it’s indescribable...

We all stood there speechless...

I say, excuse me, may I ask you something? Who are you, please tell us who you are?

He says to me... who do you think I am?

In 1973, the revered preacher and writer Dimitrios Panagopoulos (+1982) published one of his most striking works: “Saints and Wise Men Concerning the Things That Are to Come.” Decades before global tensions and geopolitical anxieties became mainstream, Panagopoulos compiled prophecies from saints and elders and presented a dramatic vision of future events, centered on Russia’s descent to Constantinople and a world-changing conflict.

“Russia first descends to Constantinople, occupying all of Turkey. Bulgaria is destroyed, and Sofia becomes a prey to fire. The Bulgarian army, pursued by the Russians, retreats into Greek territory and is disarmed. Germany advances with force against Russia, and Italy also disembarks troops in Albania and rushes swiftly against the Russians.

The front shifts from the West to Southeastern Europe, the Baltic Sea, Ukraine, the Black Sea, and the regions around the borders of Constantinople. Russia gathers great forces to defend the Straits and to cut off Germany from entering Asia Minor. England, in agreement with Russia and even with Turkey, will be forced to become subservient to Russia. Eldress Matushka Alipiya of Kiev

Matushka Alipiya of Kiev was one of those rare souls who seemed to breathe the future before it arrived. In the final years of her life, she sensed something dark approaching, the shadow of a global catastrophe. She warned that what was coming would shake nations to their core.

Before her repose in 1988, she spoke of the trial humanity would face at the dawn of the Third World War. Her words were stark, unforgettable:

“This will not be a war, but the execution of peoples for their rotten state.”

She described scenes so devastating that even today they send chills down the spine:

“The dead will lie in mountains, and no one will dare to bury them. Mountains and hills will crumble and flatten. People will flee from place to place. Many will become bloodless martyrs, suffering for the Orthodox faith.”

And then she gave a mysterious clue about when this great upheaval would begin:

“The war will start on the day of Peter and Paul, the Day of the first Apostles.”

At first glance, many assumed she meant the traditional Feast of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul, celebrated on June 29 according to the New Calendar, or July 12 on the Old Calendar, due to the 13‑day difference.

But later, some speculate that Matushka Alipiya was not referring to the commonly celebrated date at all.

In 1987, using what she called the Jerusalem calendar, the “day of Peter and Paul” did not fall in July. Instead, it aligned with one of the most luminous feasts of the Orthodox Church, the Transfiguration of the Lord, celebrated on August 6, or on August 19 on the Old Calander. The Feast of the Transfiguration is one of the Twelve Great Feasts, a moment when Christ revealed His divine glory on Mount Tabor.

Yet in Matushka Alipiya’s prophecy, one of these radiant feasts becomes the marker for a time of global darkness.

Her message remains a warning, a riddle, and a call to spiritual vigilance!

The presence of our monastery is a beacon of our Orthodox monasticism. Every monastery is an outpost of God and a presence of Holy Fathers. Every monastery blesses the whole place where it is built and the whole of the people. Since we are expecting the Age of Antichrist, I have a humble opinion, I do not adapt it and say that the Antichrist who will be the personification of all satanic power will make his presence into the center, which is called New York, inside the seas and the rivers, Babylon, the one the Revelation talks about… maybe it is there where he will first make his presence or his seat or his center from which he will communicate with all around the world and will call himself the “Big Brother”, the Antichrist.

This brave army will draw the Christians, the simple soldiers, so that they prepare God’s front and his army. These “Special Units” are called monks and nuns and the fortresses are the monasteries. There the people will take refuge in order to hide and prepare under this power. These monasteries, this army, these brave… today, unfortunately, the church itself fights against the creation of such an army.

Ahead of the coming of Antichrist, when the danger of rejecting (the faith) will be imminent since the martyrdoms will be much harder through the means of science and technology that will be available then. Satan will have through them a lot of power… and this is why Christ says in the Gospel: “Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?” (Luke 18:8) “Will He find people who believe Him? Not with their tongues but with their hearts and the power of bravery.” Exactly for this reason, the need for the creation of monasteries is urgent, if we want our children, our grandchildren and ourselves to find safety in front of the calamities that expect us and will come without any doubt, because all of these appear in the Scriptures, the Scriptures, through the Holy Spirit, and nothing will be escaped, all of these things will happen.

We are in absolute need of the presence of the monasteries and the people that will live there and we must help complete them and surround them with brave souls who will act drastically against satan and his army. Will help our Christians, will provide them with faith so that they resist, so that they become the new martyrs. The martyrs that will be incomparably more glorious from the ones of the first years (of Christianity). Certainly, the ones that will be saved during the End Times will shine brighter than the first Saints because their tortures will be great, the faith will be weak, the evil in abundance and for this, the ones that will fight the battle will be the people selected by God. Back then, faith was “in tons” with all of the miracles of the Apostles and the Saints, miracles, miracles, the evils were short, the sin was not as drastic and apparent. General Ioannis Makrygiannis also saw the Holy King John in a vision on December 20, 1849. The deeply devout General Makrygiannis recorded in detail, in his own manuscripts, the appearances, miracles, and revelations of the Lord, the Theotokos, and the Saints (book: Visions and Miracles).

In another passage, Ioannis Makrygiannis recounts: “On Sunday at dawn, our Master (the Father), Christ, the Theotokos, and all the saints came, with all that radiance of light, and very joyfully He says to me 3 times: ‘Giannis, Giannis, Giannis, now, I think, you have seen Me with your own eyes and have enjoyed Me and know Me. You have secured all that you plead for night and day concerning your homeland, your faith, and humanity in general. The “Holy” General Makrygiannis further emphasizes: “One dawn I made my prayer and was deeply immersed in the icons, and I was cold, exhausted, and in pain. I open the door and see in the hall a man with a beard, like a monk (Saint John the King). I greet him and say: ‘Elder, come inside the room, for I cannot stand here, it is near the end of December, the 20th (1849), and it is very cold.’”

He comes inside and kneels before me. I say to him: “This is a burdensome act.” I took him near me. He says: “I bring you wishes and blessings from our Master, for you and all your company.”

Then the “Holy” General, now face‑to‑face with Saint John the King in the form of a monk, writes: “Explain yourself more broadly. Who are you and how did you come?”
